The ancient town of Shenxian was originally the seat of Fanxian. Before the 13th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1380), Fan County was located in Jiucheng Village, Zhangzhuang Township, Fan County, Henan Province, and was forced to move to the ancient town of Shenxian County due to the Yellow River flood. By 1956, Gucheng Town is the seat of Fan County. 1956 Fan County moved to cherry orchard to establish a new county, 1964 The ancient city was placed under the jurisdiction of Shenxian County.
