Her story
/kloc-in the winter of 0/922, Wen Yiduo returned to his hometown from Tsinghua University, and married Gao Zhen amid festive firecrackers.
Gao Zhen and Wen Yiduo are fellow villagers, a simple girl from Wen Shu. After studying in a women's normal school for one year, I dropped out of school at home. Wen Yiduo's marriage was chosen by his parents for him. When he saw Gao Zhen, he liked his personality very much, sympathized with her situation, and loved her diligence and urgency more. Gao Zhen is also very happy to have such a talented and ambitious husband. They lived together for a while, and Wen Yiduo soon returned to Beijing. After half a year, Wen Yiduo went to study in the United States and didn't return to China until 1925. When he just found a teaching position in Beijing National Art Institute, he immediately came to Beijing with his wife who had been away for three years and told her everything after she left.
For more than 20 years, Wen Yiduo and Gao Zhen have always respected each other. Although displaced from place to place, it is still firm. Wen Yiduo is a famous poet and scholar who devoted himself to research in his early years. Later, he devoted himself to the domestic democratic movement and was a strong and unyielding revolutionary. Gao Zhen has never worked in the society, and has been shouldering the burden of presiding over housework, so that Wen Yiduo can concentrate on writing and work. After marriage, they have five children, and their family circumstances are getting worse. Gao Zhen is careful and hard-working, and often runs around for a catty of food and half a catty of vegetables.
During his stay in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, Wen Yiduo worked as a professor at National Southwest Associated University, and it was difficult to support a family of eight on a meager income. In order to support his family, Wen Yiduo often gets up early to carve seals or take part-time classes to earn some money to subsidize his family. Gao Zhen is more simple and hardworking. In order to save money, she sewed clothes to make shoes, led the children to open a wasteland on the hillside in front of the door, and planted eggplant, pepper and tomato. Yes, there was no money at home, so Gao Zhen took the children to dig wild vegetables to satisfy his hunger. In order to take care of her husband's health, she still has to fry the small fish touched by the two children out of the ditch, or fry a plate of shredded bitter gourd for him. Whenever Wen Yiduo picks up a special side dish with chopsticks, she always looks at her wife affectionately and eats with relish.
Wen Yiduo always cares about his wife. Besides living allowance, she often helps Gao Zhen learn cultural knowledge and tells her about the domestic and international situation and revolutionary principles such as democracy. In Kunming, he got Yan 'an books and periodicals from progressive friends and sent them to Gao Zhen for reading in time. Whenever the night is dead, the couple will read and study together and discuss world events in the dim light. The ideal of * * * makes them heart-to-heart, deeper.
However, in July of 1946, 15, the evil Kuomintang spy assassinated Mr. Wen Yiduo. In great grief, Gao Zhen had a heart attack and fainted. Gao Zhen finally survived. How could she forget those years with Wen Yiduo?
