What procedures and materials are needed for marriage registration?
The marriage registration procedure is mainly composed of application, examination and registration.
(1) application
Those who meet the requirements for marriage registration shall bring relevant certification materials and registration photos, go to the marriage registration office where one party is located, and fill in the declaration required for applying for marriage registration on the spot.
Different people have different requirements on the documents and supporting materials for applying for marriage registration. For example, when China citizens apply for marriage registration in China, they need to hold their own identity certificate, household registration certificate, marriage examination certificate, single spouse certificate and a signed statement that they are not related to each other. If you apply for remarriage after divorce, you need to hold a divorce certificate or divorce proof materials.
Foreigners applying for marriage in China (including China people, foreigners who come to China permanently or temporarily, and foreigners who settle in China) must hold their valid passports, foreigners' residence permits issued by public security organs or valid temporary residence permits in China, and certificates that can effectively prove their marital status.

What procedures and documents do you need for divorce?
The divorce registration process is as follows:
(1) application
If the husband and wife voluntarily divorce, they shall conclude a written divorce agreement, apply to the marriage registration authority (which has jurisdiction), and provide the following application materials as required:

Within 30 days from the date when the marriage registration office receives the application for divorce registration and delivers the receipt of the application for divorce registration to the parties concerned, any party who doesn't want to divorce can bring his valid identity certificate and the receipt of the application for divorce registration (if the receipt is lost, the situation can be explained in writing), and ask the marriage registration office that accepted the application for divorce registration to withdraw the application for divorce registration, and fill out the application for divorce registration in accordance with the regulations. After verification by the staff of the marriage registration office, a "Confirmation of Withdrawal of Divorce Registration" will be issued to the parties concerned, and the application for divorce registration, the application for withdrawal of divorce registration and the confirmation of withdrawal of divorce registration will be filed together. Within 30 days after the expiration of the cooling-off period for divorce, if both parties fail to apply for a divorce certificate at the marriage registration office, the application for divorce registration shall be deemed to have been withdrawn.
(4) Review
Within 30 days after the expiration of the cooling-off period for divorce (if the last day of the period expires is a holiday, the first day after the holiday is the expiration date of the period), both parties shall bring relevant certificates and materials, such as photos, marriage certificates, ID cards or passports, divorce agreements, etc. , apply for a divorce certificate at the marriage registry. The marriage registry will be implemented and audited as required.
