Infernal Affairs
win a sweeping victory
The results of the 79th Academy Awards were announced and presented at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood, USA on the evening of February 25th, local time. The biggest winner of the night was Infernal Affairs, which won four awards: best film, best director, best editing and best screenplay adaptation. Martin scorsese, the director of this film, was nominated for best director six times, and finally got his wish this time.
"Babel" becomes "maid of honor"
The Best Actor and Actress Award was won by forest whitaker, the hero in The Last King, and helen mirren, who played Elizabeth II in The Queen.
As expected, jennifer hudson in Dream Girl won the Best Supporting Actress Award, and the Best Supporting Actor Award went to alan arkin, an old actor who played an eccentric and drug-addicted grandfather in the road comedy Little Miss Sunshine.
Babel, who won the Golden Globe Award for Best Picture, was nominated for seven Oscars this year, but only won an insignificant award for best film score. The German film Other People's Lives won the Best Foreign Language Film Award.
The new owner is very popular.
Ellen degeneres, the famous talk show host who presided over this award ceremony, is facing the pressure of being evaluated and compared with the previous host as a "newcomer" who presided over the Oscar ceremony for the first time. Fortunately, many media spoke highly of her performance.
Allen is the second female host in Oscar history. American media believe that Allen has the ability to make everyone, including the nominee, feel relaxed.
Allen played some harmless jokes from time to time all night, and the atmosphere was relaxed and laughter continued. She made fun of DiCaprio, one of the stars of Infernal Affairs: "Oh, here comes the handsome guy. I don't know how many beautiful women are staring at you tonight. " Then he said to abigail breslin, the star of Little Miss Sunshine, "Isn't that right, little beauty?"
Allen also said to jennifer hudson (winner of the Best Supporting Actress Award) who was out of American Idol early: "Americans didn't vote for you, but you won the Oscar." Then she turned to Al Gore, the former vice president who lost to George W. Bush in the presidential election: "And you, Americans actually chose you ... it's really complicated." After his speech, the audience applauded.
Gore joked with himself.
At the award ceremony, former US Vice President Al Gore made a joke about whether he planned to participate in the 2008 US presidential election.
Gore's The Truth of Trouble won the Oscar for Best Documentary. Previously, he had repeatedly publicly stated that he had no intention of participating in the 2008 US presidential election. At the Oscar ceremony, he cooperated with Leonardo DiCaprio and made a joke about it.
On the stage, DiCaprio suddenly asked Gore, "Is there anything very important to announce to the world?" .
Gore hesitated, then took out his speech and said to the audience, "I really didn't intend to do it, but since 654.38 billion people are watching it, the timing is perfect." So, American people, I will take this opportunity to officially announce ... "
Then the music suddenly sounded, announcing that Gore had timed out. Gore and DiCaprio walked off the stage and the audience responded enthusiastically. This is just a joke. (compiled by Fan Yuhua)
Infernal Affairs
Director: martin scorsese, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson and mark wahlberg Introduction: This film is a Hollywood remake of the classic gangster film Infernal Affairs, which is very popular in Asia. The undercover who was infiltrated into the Irish mafia by the police and the mafia mole who was hidden in the police system, two "gamblers" who lived under the mask and were burdened with tragic fate, met by chance and subverted each other's life trajectory.
Many people have been expecting me for many years. When I walk down the street, someone will say to me,' You deserve to win' ... Dear old friends, friends present, and my family, thank you. "
China Director Documentary Award
At this year's Academy Awards, the documentary Children of Yingzhou, directed by Chinese-American female directors Ruby Yang, won the best documentary short film award.
This film traces the families affected by AIDS in Yingzhou, Fuyang, Anhui Province, makes a real and detailed record of the lives of local AIDS orphans, and presents the living conditions of AIDS children in China to the audience, aiming to arouse the attention of all sectors of society to AIDS as a social problem.
Director Ruby Yang is a veteran filmmaker. Twenty years ago, after immigrating to the United States from Hongkong, China, she obtained a master's degree in painting and film production. As an editor and producer, Ruby Yang has been involved in a wide range of topics reflecting China society, and she has cooperated with many well-known Chinese-American filmmakers. From 65438 to 0997, she also worked as an editor and assistant producer in the Heavenly Bath directed by Chen Chong. I am an editor in another Hollywood film "Autumn in New York" directed by Chen Chong.
Ruby Yang is the only China filmmaker who won an Oscar. Zhang Yimou's "Golden Flower in the City" lost to Cleopatra and missed the best costume design award. (compiled by Fan Yuhua)
Two other nominated films will be released soon.
Infernal Affairs missed the mainland screen.
Bao Jingxun (Reporter Gao Lili) Although Infernal Affairs has made a big splash at this year's Oscars, it has been decided that it will not be introduced to the mainland market because it is too bloody and violent and contains many swearing lines. Yesterday, the reporter got news from China Film Company.
It is reported that the Oscar nominated films and award-winning films that have been confirmed to be released in the mainland this year are "The Devil Wearing Prada" and "Babel" respectively. The former will be shown in Shenzhen today, and the heroine Meryl Streep will be nominated for the best actress Oscar. The Oscar-winning film "Babel" will hit the Chinese mainland screen in mid-March.
Are there other popular movies such as Little Miss Sunshine, Letters from Iwo Jima, The Queen, The Pantheon's Labyrinth, Dream Girl and others' lives expected to be introduced? In this regard, the relevant person in charge of China Film Company said that among these films, only "Dream Girl" actively contacted China Film Company, but because the relevant personnel of the distribution company thought that the film was not suitable for the mainland market, they decided not to introduce it. The person in charge said that after the Oscar ceremony, China Film Company will take the initiative to contact the film side to see if it can be introduced according to the characteristics of the winning films.
Martin scorsese:
The itch of six nominations was scratched.
Since 198 1 martin scorsese was nominated for the best director award at the 53rd Academy Awards, "film sociologists" have started a soap opera-like "life story" with Oscar, the most influential and oldest film award in the world. In the past 26 years, Scorsese has been nominated for the Best Director Award for six times, but it was not until this year's Best Director Award that the 26-year itch was scratched. Scorsese's scratches undoubtedly covered up all the light of this Oscar.
Not the best, but won the prize.
Since Scorsese was nominated for the Best Director Award in Infernal Affairs for the sixth time, there have been many speculations that this year's Oscar will be Scorsese's year and the coronation year of the uncrowned old horse. Previously, the Golden Globe Award, the American Directors Association Award and other "Oscar weathervanes" also awarded the Best Director Award to Scorsese, which undoubtedly laid a good show for many fans with Scorsese complex in advance. Before the Oscar for Best Director was announced, it was clear that Oscar wanted to pay off the debt owed to Ma Lao once and for all. Isn't it? Spielberg, Coppola and Lucas are three "big bosses". Except Scorsese, who has been snubbed by the Oscar for five times, who can afford the "treatment" of presenting awards together?
However, no matter how warmly the audience applauded at Kodak Theatre, no matter how fiercely Jack Nicholson and mark wahlberg whistled, Scorsese's weakness in the award-winning film Infernal Affairs could not be concealed. Undeniably, this remake of Infernal Affairs can't be compared with Scorsese's classic film Angry Bull and Boy, or even called Scorsese's masterpiece. In fact, most of Ma Lao's works in recent years are mediocre. If Oscar neglected his outstanding performances in Angry Bull and Thieves Have a Way, it would be a wise choice for Oscar to reject his New York Gangs and Leaflets in 2003 and 2005. However, Oscar did not resist the pressure of public opinion and the infighting of the old horse, and finally praised Scorsese with a little golden statuette.
Both the best actress and the best actress are very popular.
Compared with Scorsese's Infernal Affairs and Unexpected Surprise, which won the best director and best film awards, forest whitaker won the best actress and helen mirren won the best actress, but there was no surprise at all, because before that, these were the two most suspense awards at this year's Oscars. However, the nearly perfect performances of these two veteran actors in The Last King of Scotland and The Queen are really convincing.
Among the four acting awards, jennifer hudson, who won almost all the best supporting actress awards in recent American film awards, is also a big hit. It was previously reported that her chances of winning the prize were 100%. Only alan arkin, the "old hippie" in "Little Miss Sunshine", defeated eddie murphy, who was highly praised for winning the award, and won the Best Supporting Actor Award in one fell swoop, which seemed to be a real "accident". But as an American film critic said, all the actors in Little Miss Sunshine, including alan arkin, are great. If the Oscar awards "collective performance awards" like Cannes and Venice Film Festival, Hoovers in Little Miss Sunshine will be the final winner.
Foreign language films are better than American films.
As the host Allen said, today's Oscars are more and more international. At this year's Oscars, not only non-American filmmakers and artists won awards frequently, but also five films shortlisted for the Best Foreign Language Film Award stole the limelight from the leading role-American films. The Mexican film "The Maze of Pan Shen" won three awards for best photography, makeup and art direction, while the German film "Other People's Life" won the best foreign language film award in one fell swoop.
Compared with the five foreign language films with a wide range of topics and cutting-edge technology, the five American films nominated for the Oscar for Best Picture are somewhat eclipsed. Infernal Affairs, full of bloody violence, has more forms than contents. Babel is too similar to the previous plane crash, and the letter from Iwo Jima is nothing new. "The Queen" is a film that belongs only to helen mirren, and only "Little Miss Sunshine" attracts people's attention. In addition, the letters from Iwo Jima are all in Japanese, and the director and the production team of Babel are all Mexicans, which makes these two "American films" more justified to be called "foreign language films" by Oscar.
