Xing ancient word "well", "Kangxi Dictionary" said: "The well comes out of the hole", and the ancient Xingtai Baiquan actually flows, so it is called the well side. In ancient times, the Yellow Emperor once lived in the hilly area of Xingtai Xuanyuan (Ganyan Gang). Huangdi personally led Xing people to develop and utilize well water, build mineral fields and live in cities. Historically, it was called "the Yellow Emperor dug wells and gathered people to form a city", and later generations commemorated the Yellow Emperor digging wells.

The Book of Changes says, "Well, there is also a place of virtue", so people advocate virtue. During the Warring States Period, it was the capital of Xing, and Xiang Yu, the overlord of the western Chu Dynasty, changed Xing to Shunde, the ancestor Kublai Khan. And during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Duke Xing, Zhao Chenghou and King Wuling of Zhao successively built sandalwood platforms in Xing, where governors' meetings were held to commemorate the righteousness of Sinde. Therefore, it was changed to Xingtai, and the name of Xingtai is still in use today.
