Brief introduction of Tonggu county
Tonggu County is a county under the jurisdiction of Yichun City, Jiangxi Province, located in the northwest border of Jiangxi Province, upstream of Hexiu, east longitude 1 14 05', north latitude1/444', and north latitude between 28 22' and 28 50'. Yifeng County in the east, Wanzai County in the south, Liuyang County (city) and Pingjiang County in Hunan Province in the west, and xiushui county in the north. The terrain is wide in the west and narrow in the east, slightly triangular. The total area is 1548 square kilometers, of which 87% is mountainous, 1.3% is hilly basin, and there are 20 peaks with an altitude of 1000 meters, which are typical mountainous areas. The county's forest coverage rate is as high as 87.4%. It governs 6 towns, 3 townships and 4 state-owned forest farms. The population of the county is 1.4 million, and 70% of them are Hakkas. It is the center of Hakka in northwest Jiangxi, where Huaiyuan dialect (Hakka Tonggu dialect) and Ganyu Changjing dialect are popular, and Hakka culture is rich.
