Bring the original ID cards and household registration books of both parties, then make two copies of each, and then bring the registration fee. Both sides will go, and you can bring some wedding candy (without it) if you think it is appropriate.

You don't need to take pictures. The civil affairs bureau will take your picture, and it's no use bringing your picture. You must use their photos. Then you have to fill out a form. People from the Civil Affairs Bureau will tell you how to write it. The whole process takes half an hour. I just did it.
