Changsha, also known as Xingcheng, is a prefecture-level city, provincial capital and megacity under the jurisdiction of Hunan Province, an important central city in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, and a central city of the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan urban agglomeration approved by the State Council. It is an experimental zone for comprehensive reform of "two-oriented society" in China, an important grain production base in China, an important node city in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, a comprehensive transportation hub and a national logistics hub.
Changsha is one of the first national historical and cultural cities. After three thousand years, its name and address remain unchanged, and it is known as the hometown of Qujia, the famous city of Chu and Han, and Xiaoxiang bamboo silk. During the Warring States period, it was a strategic place of Chu in the south. It was once the capital of Han, Changsha and Southern Chu, and was the political, economic, cultural and transportation center of Hunan and its surrounding areas in past dynasties. Changsha is the city with the best international image in China (Mainland China), the cultural capital of East Asia and the "media art capital" of the world.
