Attractions in Shangcai County:

1, Cai Gucheng

Caiguo Old Town is located in the southwest of Caidu Street, northwest of Lugang Street, northeast of Chongyang Street and southeast of Wolong Street. Founded in the early Western Zhou Dynasty (BC 1 1 mid-century). The existing city wall is 4 ~ 1 1m high, 5 ~ 25m wide and 0/0490m perimeter. The city wall is made of rammed earth layer by layer, each layer is 8~ 14 cm thick, and the small rammed nest has a round bottom.

Three sides of the south wall and one side of the west wall are well preserved. In the middle of the old city (now Zhuangnan, Wang Hui), there is a trapezoidal earthen platform with an area of 8,000 square meters, which is one of the palaces of Cai Hou. In Zhaizhuang in the southwest corner of the city, bronzes from the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period-bronze bells, bronze ding, bronze pots, bronze swords, bronze ge, chariots and horses-were unearthed. 1996 was announced by the State Council as the fourth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.

2. Guo Zhuang Chu Tomb

Guo Zhuang Chu Tomb is located on the western slope of Ling Gang, about 500 meters east of Guo Zhuang Village in Li Xiang Township and 3 kilometers west of the county seat. It is a tomb, located on the site of the Zhou Dynasty, and the remaining sealing plane is rectangular. There are two east-west A-shaped tombs under the paddock. Tomb No.1 lives in the south, and Tomb No.2 lives in the north, which is 20 meters apart.

Despite 18 excavations from the Warring States to modern times, more than 2,000 precious cultural relics have been unearthed, including nearly 1000 bronzes, more than 200 jade articles and a small amount of pottery. According to the comprehensive analysis of the tomb shape and unearthed cultural relics, experts believe that the owner of the tomb is a man, who may be a senior aristocrat who sealed Cai in the State of Chu. In May, 2006, the noble cemetery of Chu State in Shangcai was announced by the State Council as the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
