How to make pheasant specimens
Pheasant specimens are made from pheasants. Pheasants are gorgeous in appearance, and processing them into specimens is a beautiful work of art.

The manufacturing process is as follows:

1. Get your equipment ready. Pliers, tweezers, scalpel, needle and thread, 14 iron wire, binding thread, artificial eye.

2. Prepare disinfectant. Phenol 10%, glycerol 20%, alcohol 20% and water 50%.

3. Prepare preservatives. Boric acid powder130g, 60g of camphor powder and 60g of alum powder, and mix them evenly.

4. Prepare the chicken for bleeding. Choose a rooster with neat and beautiful feathers, cut the artery above its mouth with scissors, drain all the chicken blood, squeeze the chicken's heart and let it die quickly. Then put a ball of cotton in your mouth to prevent the residual blood from flowing out and polluting the feathers. Let it stand for 2-3 hours and then peel it.

5. Peel. First, plug the cloaca with cotton and separate the feathers in the center of the abdomen. The first cut starts from the middle process, and makes a cut about 10 cm long. First, peel the skin off the leg, cut off the bone at the joint of the femur and tibia muscles, and remove the muscles on the tibia. When stripping the cloaca, cut the rectum with scissors, peel back the base of the tail, clean the sebaceous gland of the tail with a knife, cut off the end of the coccyx, and then slowly peel off the back fur. When peeling off the wings, cut off the wings first, then peel off the fur at the humerus and remove the muscles at the humerus. Because the ulna and radius are difficult to peel off and will be wasted before the meeting, the mixture of pure phenol and 20% alcohol is generally injected for antiseptic treatment. Finally, peel off the head, cut off the joint between the neck and the chicken body, hold the neck that has left the skin with one hand, and pull the neck outward with the other hand to make the head valgus. When reaching the head, be careful that the skin will break due to the increase in volume. Pinch the ear canal with the fingernails of the right thumb and forefinger near the head to separate it from the skull. When you peel off your eyes, gently cut along the four sides of your eyes until the bottom of your mouth is peeled off before cutting your eyelids. Remove the muscles of the skull, hold the cotton ball with a racket and immerse it into the brain tissue through the foramen magnum. It is best to shave the muscles and tongue of the upper and lower jaws and gouge out the eyeballs.

6. Antiseptic treatment. Apply the prepared preservatives and preservatives to the inside of chicken skin.

7. Make a skeleton. Connect the head and tail with no. 14 iron wire. Two iron wires are inserted into the wings and fixed. The leg wire passes through the sole of the foot from the tarsal bone, and then it is firmly fixed at the intersection of the wire with a tie wire.

8. Filling and stitching. Fill the goose skin with filling materials such as bamboo or cotton, then sew it with needle and thread, and install artificial eyes at the same time.

9. Plastic surgery According to the purpose of production, pheasant specimens are made into various lifelike forms such as "golden rooster independence", "spreading wings" and "leisurely walking".

10. It's fixed. Wrap the specimen tightly with gauze or strip paper towel, apply antiseptic to the place except feathers, put it in a ventilated and dry place, and take off the paper towel after half a month. It is best to fix the specimen on the root carving.
