How to Prune Peach Trees (Text)
Peach tree is a light-loving tree with strong branches and fast growth. If the management is not good, it is easy to grow white, which will affect the light, cause the dead branches to be empty, and the results will move out, leading to premature aging of trees and reducing the yield and quality. Therefore, it is very important to master the measures related to pruning, especially pruning in summer. Common pruning methods are:

1, fixed stem: after the peach tree is planted, it is cut at a position 60-70cm away from the ground, and 20cm, 7- 10 robust and full leaf buds are left under the cut place as a shaping belt. The so-called shaping belt is a section of trunk selected during stem setting, which is located below the incision and above the trunk. Three main branches are cultivated in the belt, and after germination, it is below the shaping belt.

2. Cultivate the main branches, and when the new branches grow to 50 cm a year, start to select and keep the main branches. We can cut off the central branch, make use of the annual shoots sprouting from the trunk or the secondary branches of that year, choose the one with appropriate distance and orientation as the main branch, cut off the central branch above the third main branch, and open the main branch angle by pulling branches in August-September.

3. Select and keep the side branches on the main branch. Generally, 3 ~ 4 lateral branches are selected on the main branch. The so-called lateral branches are the fixed backbone branches planted on the main branches, and the above steps can be completed by adding plastic pruning technology.

4. The reserved azimuth of the three main branches is preferably 120 degrees, which are evenly distributed, and the opening angle of each main branch is 45 degrees.
