Fish play Pinghu crossing a secluded cave, Yan Ming autumn moon writing the sky. The writer is Huang Wenzhong, a democracy fighter in West Lake, Liu Mo.

Huang Wenzhong (1890-1946) is a native of Tao Yang Town, Lintao County. In the early years of the Republic of China, after graduating from the First Normal School in Gansu Province, he was sent to Japan to study in 19 17, obtained a bachelor's degree in political economy from Meiji University in Tokyo, and joined the League. After school, I translated the History of Japanese Civil Rights written by Professor Uehara, advocating civil rights and the Three People's Principles. After the manuscript is completed, I would like to present it to Sun Yat-sen for review and face-to-face instruction. Dr. Sun Yat-sen earnestly taught: "The enterprising spirit is commendable and we should devote ourselves to the propaganda and establishment of civil rights in China." At the same time, Dr. Sun Yat-sen praised the translation as "beneficial to the study of Japanese civil rights" and wrote in his own hand: "The world trend is vast, and if it goes well, it will prosper, but if it goes against it, it will die." This book was published in Shanghai Commercial Press on 1926.

After returning to China, Huang Wenzhong served as the director of the Education Department of Gansu Province, and taught concurrently in universities and middle schools. At that time, the idea of democracy and freedom was soaring, and speeches and propaganda were made everywhere, criticizing the despotism of warlords, criticizing current politics and advocating democracy and freedom, which aroused the fear and jealousy of the authorities. In A.D. 192 1 year, Lu Hongtao, our Gansu Province, instigated his men to plot against Huang Wenzhong. When Huang Wenzhong passed Andingmen on his way home from work, he was suddenly attacked. His head was broken, his ears were cracked, his fingers were broken, and he was in a coma in the street. After being discovered by passers-by, he was sent to the hospital for rescue and survived. After waking up from danger, his first sentence was: "Is my tongue still there? My tongue is there, and I have to say it. I have to say that my shoulder was photographed by Marshal Sun and it was indestructible. " Since then, he claimed to be "coming again" and still talked about governing the country and propagating democratic ideas.

From 65438 to 0925, Huang Wenzhong served as the magistrate of Yanchi County, and was dismissed for offending powerful people. /kloc-in the spring of 0/927, I worked as a Chinese teacher in Lanzhou No.1 Middle School. Later, he became the county magistrate of Linze, Jinta and Gao Tai, which were deeply loved by the people, but they all served for a short time. Finally, because of the three dragons drought, the people fell into poverty. Huang Wenzhong couldn't bear the persecution of the hungry people, raised money for the garrison, fled from Zhangye to Shanghai, and moved around Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces to make a living by selling words and paying royalties, and kept close contacts with Shen Junru, Huang Yanpei and Li Gongpu.

After the September 18th Incident (1931September 18), although Huang Wenzhong suffered many setbacks in adversity, he could not forget the future of the country and still cared about the fate of the people. Shanghai held a conference on democracy and national salvation, calling on the Kuomintang to send troops to resist Japan and recover lost territory. Huang Wenzhong attended the meeting as a representative of Gansu people and made a speech on saving the country. In the next few years, he had to live in the "West Lake Lou Yu" to express his concern for the country and his ambition to serve the country through poetry. Many scenic spots on the lake have left his poems and couplets, adding a lot of color to the beauty of the West Lake. Today, Lingyin Cuiwei Pavilion still has the couplets he carved when he went to Hangzhou to convey his feelings:

The lonely pavilion is like the old days, and it is a paradise for strong men;

The vulture rock standard is far superior to others, and it turns to Wan Li's heart all its life.

Han Shizhong, a famous anti-gold star in the Southern Song Dynasty, built pavilions and courtyards, pursued Yuefei monuments and expressed his desire to recover rivers and mountains. His brushwork is decisive and heroic. He wrote a couplet on Lingyin Spring Pavilion:

There are many miracles in mountains and rivers, two streams in spring and one carving;

Heaven and earth remain unchanged, with a hundred hectares of West Lake and ten miles.

The first part points out the magic of the origin of Feilai Peak, and the second part describes the clarity and beauty of the clear water in the spring stream, which should last forever. Another example is: "the lake light tower shadow is even three; The first floor of Serene Jianghu. " (Tibet lamp) "Fish play Pinghu wears a long hole; Yanming autumn moon writes the sky. " Autumn moon in Pinghu is magnificent or elegant, but all the scenery is integrated and the artistic conception is far-reaching. What is particularly rare is that in the process of commenting on landscapes, Huang Wenzhong is outspoken, criticizes current politics, and always thinks about the country and the nation. His style is far higher than that of ordinary gifted scholars. For example, he wrote a couplet on Lingyin Lengquan Pavilion: "The peak wants to fly again without pure land; Spring is cold-resistant, and there are famous mountains. " It's about flying peaks and cold springs, and it's about the general idea that there is no pure land in China. Where else can I go? I have to endure loneliness in this beautiful scenery. He has been in Hangzhou for five years and has written more than ten books, most of which are wonderful works.

Among the couplets he wrote for the West Lake, the one most praised by the world as "the scenery of the West Lake in the world" is:

Xiu Xiu is covered with mountains and rivers;

Sunny, sunny and rainy, always curious.

This couplet, also known as "Julian's couplet" and "Treading on a checkered pattern", can be read both sequentially and reversibly, and can be read repeatedly like treading on a checkered pattern.

The water is bright and the mountains are beautiful. Ming Xiu is full of water and mountains.

Sunny days are good, rainy days are strange, and rainy days are always curious.

The first part of the book falls from space and describes the scenery of the West Lake, which is beautiful everywhere. The second part reviews the changes of the West Lake from the perspective of time. It's always beautiful when it rains on sunny days. It can really be called a beautiful combination of words.

Later, his friend Yang Shaoshu, a native of Hubei Province, compiled the couplets he wrote for the West Lake into Huang Wenzhong's West Lake Couplet, which was widely circulated in Hang Jian.
