In recent years, Wuhan East Lake Moshan Bonsai Garden has made attempts at cherry blossom bonsai and achieved initial results. The potted cherry blossoms produced were displayed during the Wuhan East Lake Cherry Blossom Festival in 2006 and 2007, and were highly praised by peers and tourists. The experience of making potted cherry blossoms is summarized as follows:

(1) Due to limitations of biological characteristics in variety selection, cherry blossoms are mostly planted in the open field in gardens and rarely used in pots. In fact, some cherry blossom varieties are more suitable for potted viewing, such as 'Dwarf', 'Yahonghongzhi', 'Yuqingweizhi', 'Ochehui', 'Takasago', 'Songyue', and 'Yang Guifei' , 'Guanshan' etc. In addition, there are also examples in Japan of potting cherry blossom varieties such as ‘Arizona’, ‘Mazakura’, ‘Yujin’, ‘Oi-yellow’, and ‘Kirin’, and it is said that the effects are also good. (2) How to make potted cherry blossoms. We make large potted cherry blossoms. Currently, we mainly use the following two quick production methods:

① Select small, compact and graceful cherry blossom trees in the garden and put them directly into the pots. appreciate. For example, 'Diao Zhidui' has naturally drooping branches and a graceful and unique tree shape. It can be viewed in a pot with a little trimming; 'Yu Che Hui' and 'Song Yue' have small and compact trees with graceful posture and bright colors, and can also be viewed in a pot. .

②The cherry blossom tree is transformed into a potted cherry blossom. The cherry blossom trees used for renovation come from three sources: first, the weak-growing cherry blossom trees in the garden, whose stems are mostly vigorous and clumsy-shaped, which are the best for making potted cherry blossoms; second, the cherry blossom trees with poor tree shape and unsuitable for garden layout. ; Third, we can also use cherry blossom trees whose trunks are dead but whose roots and necks are still alive to make potted cherry blossoms. Usually, the method of high-connection head replacement is used for modification. The cherry blossom tree can be reshaped and then reshaped. The reshaping can be done by combining pruning and tying. The high-end changing of cherry blossoms is usually carried out in early spring before the cherry blossoms sprout. In Wuhan, it is usually in mid-to-late March. The specific time is based on the phenology of the year. Sakura adopts the cutting method for high splicing and high survival rate. We can graft cherry blossom varieties with similar flowering periods onto a pot of cherry blossoms to produce ten kinds of cherry blossoms with two flowers in one pot or multiple flowers in one pot. (3) Maintenance and management of potted cherry blossoms. The maintenance and management methods of potted cherry blossoms and potted plum blossoms are similar. We cultivate potted cherry blossoms and potted plum blossoms together without giving special care. They can bloom normally every year for people to watch.

At present, the technology of potted cherry blossoms still needs to be explored and improved.
