What is the function of pulse voltage?
Introduction Some parameters in industrial production are often converted into pulsed electrical signals, and the relevant information is characterized by pulse frequency, amplitude, area, phase and pulse number. When the pulse signal is characterized by frequency or pulse number, its amplitude and area have no practical significance. Therefore, the pulse can be amplified, limited and shaped according to the working needs of digital circuits, and these processes will not affect the meaning and representation of information. When the pulse signal is characterized by its amplitude or area, it is very important that the measurement of pulse voltage has the function of obtaining information. Generally speaking, the pulse signal has the characteristic that the duration τ is much shorter than the period t, that is, the duty ratio q(q =τ/T) is very small. The narrow pulse voltage is measured by a common peak detector. During the pulse duration, when the charge of the detection capacitor does not reach a sufficient value, the detection capacitor will turn to the discharge process due to the end of the pulse. At this time, if the duty cycle of the pulse to be measured is very small, that is, the discharge time is much longer than the charging time, the average voltage charged on the detection capacitor is much lower than the peak voltage of the pulse to be measured, which will cause great measurement error. Taking the pulse voltage measured by series peak detector as an example, this paper analyzes the measurement error and puts forward the improvement method. The error analysis circuit of 1 is shown in figure 1. Let the measured pulse voltage be US(t), its internal resistance be RS, and its duty ratio be Q; The forward resistance of the detector diode is rd; The load resistance of the detector is R, and the peak value and average value of the pulse voltage are U∧ and U respectively.
