To build a kang, the villagers commonly call it a pot kang, and build a kang stack with brick walls. There is a flue in the wall between the kang and the kang, and several flat and regular kang blanks are covered on the kang surface. The kang blank used to be made of clay, but now it is made of cement prefabricated board, and patches are attached around the kang box. After the kang blank is paved, it is paved with cement and ground. When the mud is dry, spread the kang mat bought from the craftsman and cover it with a layer of warm and moisture-proof wool felt.

The structure of kang is far more complicated than that of bed, and the construction methods are different, including hole kang, flower kang and hollow kang. The kang is built with several small walls and eight rows of bricks on the ground, dividing the space into several tunnels, leaving blank at both ends to connect the roads, covering them with adobe, slate or red bricks, and smoothing them with sand, mud or white ash.

Flower kang is the development of cave kang. The small wall is only half high, and it is supported by red bricks, so it can be paved with red bricks. Other methods are the same.

Hollow kang is more advanced, only supported by a few red brick pillars, covered with several large cement boards, and the other methods are the same as those of hole kang and flower kang. It is said that the hollow kang is advanced because it has a large internal space and is not easily blocked by fireworks ash. It often takes ten to eight years to build a kang. All kangs have a feature that one end leads to the chimney and the other end is equipped with a stove.
