This second trial showed us a different old Rong Zhi. She is different from our former "good girl" in thought, logic and defense ability. Many words and languages can "top up" at critical moments. Moreover, during the second trial, Rong Zhi Sr totally denied her statement of "intentional homicide" and thought that she was forced subjectively. Many refutations made by Rong Zhi Sr have no basis, and unfounded refutations will not be adopted at all, so it is very likely that the original judgment of death penalty will be upheld.

Two, there is no new evidence to support the confession, it is difficult to change the judgment of the first instance.

If Rong Zhi Sr wants to reverse his conviction in the second trial, she must find very important and direct evidence. But now, what she provided in the second trial is new evidence, which is not enough to prove that she did not participate in these things. She only proves from the side that she didn't participate in these cases, but in fact, these newly provided evidences can't prove that she didn't participate at all.

Old Rong Zhi provided three new evidences:

First, the old girlfriend said that she was not a vain person and wanted to prove from the side that what she did was threatened by France and Britain, but the video evidence was refuted by the prosecution because there were obvious editing traces in the video and could not be used as evidence.

Second, Rong Zhi Sr. didn't resist when he was arrested, but France and Britain understood the resistance when he was arrested, and Rong Zhi Sr. didn't have plastic surgery and didn't want to hide it, but these are not enough to show that Rong Zhi Sr. met the conditions for commutation.

The third is a similar case. The woman in the case is similar to Lao, but sentenced to 12 years.

Although a lot of new evidence has been provided, in fact, none of them can refute the accusation that she did not participate in "intentional homicide"

Although after the second trial, Rong Zhi Sr. overturned many previous confessions, it had no practical effect. Some things don't exist unless you admit it. If Rong Zhi Sr. surrendered herself in the past 20 years, it means that she was persecuted, and it is still possible to escape the death penalty. But after so many years, she expressed herself with "fear" and "dare not", and no one would believe her. Therefore, there is almost no possibility that Rong Zhi Sr will be sentenced to death.
