Dragon rice is usually displayed at major festivals or various happy events. Dining tables, chairs, chopsticks and vegetables are collected from every household in the village, then the dining table is closed and put into a long strip, and then the collected vegetables are placed on the dining table, chopsticks are arranged, and chairs are placed on both sides of the long table.
The dishes of Dragon Rice are mainly sour fish, sour meat and sauerkraut. Glutinous rice is served for each guest and placed on both sides of a long table with leaves as the bottom. Each serving of glutinous rice is served with a string of fresh meat and tofu. After the guests are seated, there will be a group drinking ceremony and a pre-meal ceremony.
Yuanling bacon
Yuanling bacon is a specialty of Yuanling County, Huaihua City, Hunan Province. Yuanling bacon (also called Yuanling bacon outside Hunan Province) is spicy, salty and delicious, and is favored by consumers. Yuanling people have a unique habit of smoking bacon every other year. Every year near the end of the year, kill pigs, cut pork into 35 Jin pieces, smear salt and various seasonings, and marinate for three to five days. When salt and spices are soaked in meat, they are hung on a fire pit with bamboo or rattan and smoked slowly with fireworks. Smoked bacon can generally be preserved for more than half a year. If smoked with orange peel, bacon oil is red, bright red, and has no ash, so the color is more beautiful.
