Liaoyang has five administrative districts and 1 county, and manages 1 county-level city. They are Baita District, Wensheng District, Hongwei District, Gongchangling District, taizihe district, Liaoyang County and dengta city. Liaoning Province, formerly known as Xiangping City and Liaodong City, is a prefecture-level city approved by the State Council, a modern industrial city dominated by petrochemical industry, a central city in south-central Liaoning and a national historical and cultural city.

Brief introduction of Liaoyang city

Liaoyang, located in the northeast of China and the middle of Liaoning, is a sub-central city of Shenyang metropolitan area, a newly-developed modern petrochemical textile industrial base, an excellent tourist city in China and one of the earliest cities in Northeast China. Liaoyang is one of the oldest cities in the northeast of China and a famous cultural city with a history of more than 2,000 years. During the Warring States Period, it was ruled by Liaodong County of Yan State and controlled by Qin Yan.

Liaoyang was the capital of Liaodong in the early Han Dynasty, and Liaodong County was still located here. During the Gongsun period, Xiangping was ruled by Pingzhou and Liaodong County. In the early years of the Western Jin Dynasty, Xiangping once again became the capital of Liaodong, and later changed to Pingzhou. During the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Liaoyang was successively occupied by Yan Qian, Qianqin, Houyan, Goguryeo and other local ethnic regimes.

In the Tang Dynasty, Liaoyang was under the jurisdiction of Liaocheng government and once belonged to Anton. During the Liao and Jin Dynasties, Liaoyang County was established in Tokyo. The Yuan Dynasty was the residence of Liaoyang Province. It is clear that Liaodong is the commander of the company and governs the whole territory of Liaoning. In the early Qing Dynasty, Liaoyang was its capital, then Liaoyang County was established, and then Liaoyang County was changed to Liaoyang Prefecture. Liaoyang County was established in the Republic of China.
