Development background of biological adhesive for wound repair
Wound repair is one of the most important and basic problems faced by trauma, burn surgery and even the whole medical field. However, as an independent discipline, systematic and in-depth research on it has only received great attention in recent 20 years. On the one hand, many basic problems of wound repair in the past have not been really solved. On the other hand, the development of modern medicine, especially molecular biology, has brought many new problems to wound repair, and even some important concepts are constantly being updated and developed. For example, the traditional dressing (gauze) only covers the wound, but now, the concept of developing dressing has changed fundamentally, that is, dressing not only covers the wound, but also has the function of promoting tissue repair, which is called "active dressing" or "revolutionary dressing". Secondly, with the improvement of people's living standards, the requirements for quality of life are getting higher and higher, so the prevention and treatment of chronic body surface ulcers and scars, which were not paid much attention to in the past, are also paid more and more attention. Therefore, paying more attention to the study of wound repair is not only an academic need, but also a new requirement for medicine and biology after the social development has reached a certain stage.

Foreign countries attach great importance to wound repair, and its basic research has gone deep into the level of cells, molecules and genes. Since the 1970s, due to the effective acquisition of a large number of cytokines and their application in animal experiments, the research on tissue repair with the relationship between growth factors and wound repair as the main line has been at the forefront abroad, which has promoted the development of the whole wound repair. After nearly 20 years' efforts, remarkable progress has been made in cytology of tissue repair, metabolism of extracellular matrix and collagen, mechanism of growth factor promoting (inhibiting) wound repair, pathophysiological characteristics and healing promotion methods of chronic refractory ulcer, causes and control of hypertrophic scar, development of active dressing and gene therapy, and many basic research results have been applied to clinic.

The research on wound repair in China has been continuous, and gratifying achievements have been made in the field of burn wound repair. But generally speaking, China's overall research in this field still lags behind western developed countries, and its basic research lags behind clinical treatment. Wound repair is a systematic project, involving surgery, trauma surgery, burns, plastic surgery and many other medical fields, and has extensive connections with many basic and applied sciences such as biochemistry, biology, molecular biology, biomechanics, biomaterials and so on. Therefore, it is obviously difficult to make a breakthrough if we do not take it as an important subject to tackle key problems across disciplines and specialties. As early as 2003, a large number of medical celebrities, such as Professor Sheng Zhiyong, a famous academician of China Academy of Engineering, and Professor Fu from Beijing 304 Hospital, began to publish a large number of papers or monographs, proposing that "we should make full use of the achievements of modern high-tech biotechnology, explore the mystery of normal and tissue out-of-control repair from the cellular, molecular and genetic levels, find reliable methods to promote repair, and speed up the development and application of new products." The point of view.
