If there are only 1 2 trichiasis in the lower eyelid, it can be removed with trichiasis forceps and then removed when it grows again. If trichiasis is mild and the symptoms are not obvious, you can observe it. Severe trichiasis will cause corneal damage and need surgical correction.
Children with trichiasis are often accompanied by epicanthus of the lower eyelid. If the clinical symptoms are serious and there is corneal injury, surgery should be considered. Surgery is usually performed after the age of three, and suture can be used to correct it. If the symptoms are mild, conservative treatment is recommended.
