Second, the choice of right of way and the way vehicles open doors are scientific and reasonable. BRT right-of-way is selected in the middle of the road, and vehicles open the door on the right. This design fully considers the characteristics of Changzhou Road, passenger travel, intersection capacity and line network. It is obviously different from BRT in Beijing and Hangzhou, but it has obvious advantages.
1 There are many intersections along the line. BRT Road (mainly No.37) has many entrances and exits for residential areas, enterprises and shops (124). The special lanes located on both sides of the road will have a great impact on the traffic of motor vehicles and the operation of BRT vehicles. In addition, because BRT vehicles are adjacent to non-motor vehicles, physical isolation must be set up, which not only increases investment, but also brings great difficulties to vehicle operation and traffic management. Bus rapid transit lane is located in the middle of the road. On the one hand, there is no need to set an isolation belt between the dedicated lane and the conventional motor vehicle lane, but it can be separated by marking lines and reflective spikes. For motor vehicles, traffic management can be strengthened to prevent them from occupying BRT lanes, which is not only better for the road landscape, but also more conducive to the function of emergency exits, and will not affect the future road widening.
