Is liquid carbon dioxide flammable and explosive?
Liquid carbon dioxide is not flammable, but explosive.

Liquid carbon dioxide is to liquefy carbon dioxide gas into liquid state at high pressure and low temperature.

Carbon dioxide cannot burn or support combustion, so carbon dioxide gas cannot burn, that is, carbon dioxide is nonflammable.

However, dry ice can produce gaseous carbon dioxide which is 1000 times larger than the solid volume. If stored improperly, it is easy to explode.

Flammable and explosive chemicals refer to compressed gases, liquefied gases, flammable liquids, flammable solids, flammable substances that spontaneously ignite when wet, oxidants and organic peroxides, as well as some flammable and explosive chemicals in the National Standard GB12268-90-90 List of Dangerous Goods.

Flammable, explosive and dangerous goods include these ten categories:

(1) explosives. Such as detonators, explosives, fuses, firecrackers, fireworks, lighters, etc.

(2) Flammable liquid. Such as gasoline, kerosene, alcohol, banana oil, turpentine, paint, etc.

(3) Flammable solids. Such as sulfur, oilcloth and its products.

(4) compressed gas. Such as lighter gas, liquefied gas, etc.

(5) Articles liable to spontaneous combustion. Such as yellow phosphorus.

(6) toxic substances. Such as arsenic and dichlorvos.

(7) Corrosive articles. Such as hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and hydrogen peroxide.

(8) radioactive substances.

(9) oxidant.

(10) Burning articles in contact with water. Such as metal powder, metal sodium, lead powder, etc.
