At present, the first and second phases of 9.5 square kilometers have been developed and the third phase is in progress. The park has four leading industries: information industry, biomedical industry, auto parts and electromechanical industry, and new materials. At present, it owns well-known enterprises such as Dibit, AT&S, Shanghai Radio and Television NEC. Most of the projects in the park have entered the production stage.

In 2005, Xinzhuang Industrial Zone introduced 56 foreign investment projects, with a total project investment of US$324 million, contracted foreign investment of US$156 million, and capital in place of US$150 million. By the end of 2005, 264 Chinese and foreign companies had settled in the city, 158 companies had started production, and the total export volume was US$737 million.

Minhang Economic and Technological Development Zone:

Approved by the State Council in August 1986, it is a national-level economic and technological development zone with a total area of ??3.5 square kilometers. The park is located in the southwest of Minhang District and on the north bank of the upper reaches of the Huangpu River. The transportation in the development zone is very convenient. It is 47 kilometers away from Zhanghuabang 10,000-ton International Container Terminal, 15 kilometers away from Guangang International Shipping Terminal, 27 kilometers away from Hongqiao International Airport, and 30 kilometers away from the center of Shanghai. The nearby Humin Expressway connects directly to the urban area and the national highway network. Rail Transit Line 5 directly connects the development zone to the city center.

In 2005, the total industrial output value was 27.732 billion yuan, sales revenue was 29.441 billion yuan, profit was 2.992 billion yuan, and export delivery value was 5.752 billion yuan. At present, internationally renowned multinational companies such as Mitsubishi Elevator, Coca-Cola, Fuji Xerox, Johnson & Johnson, Pepsi-Cola, and Bristol-Myers Squibb have invested in the development zone. The park is dominated by general equipment manufacturing, beverage manufacturing, instrumentation and cultural office machinery manufacturing, and electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing. The output value of these industries accounts for 61.9% of the park's output value.
