This paper briefly introduces the principle and surgical design of repairing upper lip defect with a single lower lip cross tissue flap.
When the tissue defect of the upper lip reaches 1/3 ~ 1/2 of the total length of the lip, it can be repaired with a single crossed tissue flap of the lower lip. The height and width of the upper lip tissue were measured before operation, and a triangular lip tissue pedicled with lip red was designed from the lower lip. The height is equal to the height of the defect, the width of the bottom is half of the width of the defect, and the pedicle is located inside the lower lip, so that the pedicle of the lip is located in the center of the defect after rotation to reduce its tension. Pedicle rupture 2 ~ 3 weeks after the first operation.
