So we believe that although hernia is a small problem, there is a lot to be done. The Vascular Surgery Department of our hospital was established in the early 1980s. It is the earliest vascular surgery department in our province. It started as a professional group under general surgery and has developed into a relatively independent and mature vascular surgery department. The Hernia and Abdominal Wall Surgery Department was established in the early 21st century and is currently the only professional discipline in our province that specializes in hernia surgery. Vascular surgery, hernia and abdominal wall surgery are currently the most professional and standardized disciplines in the diagnosis and treatment of peripheral vascular disease, hernia and abdominal wall diseases in Guizhou Province. It is also the youngest discipline (it has been established relatively recently and has a young staff structure). The number of patients is increasing year by year. Since our establishment, we have adhered to the fine traditions of the older generation and have successfully performed abdominal aortic aneurysm resection with artificial blood vessel transplantation, aortic aneurysm interventional endoluminal isolation, carotid body tumor resection, arterial bypass surgery, and large vessel invasion surgery. Tumor resection + vascular replacement, femoral vein extravalvular repair, surgical (laparoscopic) treatment of various external abdominal hernias (including incisional hernias, inguinal hernias, multiple recurrent hernias, etc.), and treatment of peripheral vascular diseases and hernias We have accumulated rich clinical experience in diagnosis and treatment; we have successfully rescued numerous patients with vascular injury and massive bleeding, and carried out autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation to treat diabetic foot and distal arterial occlusive diseases caused by other causes. With the development of society and the aging of China's population, there will be more and more peripheral vascular diseases, hernias and abdominal wall diseases. Our work is also in full swing, but there are still many difficulties and problems with peripheral vascular diseases, hernias and abdominal wall diseases. Still need to be solved, such as the sequelae of deep vein thrombosis, congenital vascular malformations, extensive distal arterial occlusion, etc., which still seriously threaten the health of the people; the causes of aneurysms and inguinal hernias, the prevention and treatment of deep vein thrombosis, etc. Basic and clinical research still needs to be further deepened, which shows the broad development space of vascular surgery from another perspective.
