How is sun-dried ginseng processed?
There are two kinds of sun-dried ginseng: one is dried with whole beard; The other is to remove the beard and the sun (also called light sun), and the treatment method is relatively simple.

(1) Processing of Sun-dried Ginseng

Ginseng with complete fibrous roots can not be red ginseng, but can be processed into full-fiber raw ginseng. The method of brushing ginseng is the same as that of processing red ginseng, but the requirements are higher. In addition to whitewashing, the scar on the reed bowl must be cleaned up, and the skin can't be brushed without spots. After brushing, put ginseng roots in boiling water and fry for about 1 min. After frying, take it out and dry it. According to the size of the branches, put them on a ginseng drying plate and dry them in the sun for 1 ~ 2 days. When drying, the temperature should not be too high, and it should be controlled between 40℃ and 48℃, and the water should be discharged in time to prevent the surface from yellowing and affect the color and quality. After drying, wet with hot water, soften and set, wrap the beard with white thread (tie the tail), dry and box.

(2) to be treated

Also known as sun drying or river drying. Except for the taproot, reed head and reed leg, the brushed ginseng can be removed after air drying, so as to avoid reddish brown on the incision and affect the quality. The process of boiling, frying and drying is the same as that of all drying. Sun-dried ginseng should master the temperature in the drying process to prevent excessive drying, bad color and black and red circles in the cross section. The best quality is when the cross section is white by hand. The finished products are packaged in grades according to specifications.

The sun-dried ginseng can be dried without frying, and the washed ginseng can be dried outdoors until the surface of the ginseng root is dry, and then sent to a drying room for drying. Do not bring water into the drying room to avoid increasing indoor humidity and affecting the color of raw sun-dried ginseng. When drying, the room temperature should be kept at 40 ~ 50℃, not exceeding 50℃, otherwise it will be easy to burn and carbonize. Moisture should be removed in time during drying. The humidity of drying room is too high, which is prone to red eye circle, and the appearance and internal color of finished products are not good.
