Sun Shuao beheaded the snake

At the time of King Zhuang of Chu (613 BC to 591 BC), he ordered Yin Sun Shuao to miss him. I had a beautiful heart when I was a child. One day I went for a walk on the outskirts of the city and was shocked to find a two-headed snake in the grass. He heard the old people say that anyone who sees a two-headed snake will die immediately, and he was a little scared. But he then thought, it doesn't matter if I die alone, if more people see it, it will cause endless harm! Thinking of this, he resolutely raised a stone and killed the two-headed snake and buried it deeply in the soil. After returning home, he told his mother about it, and she praised him for doing the right thing. This story is widely circulated in the countryside around Anfengtang in Shouxian County.

Zhao Kuangyin and the "Great Rescue"

According to legend, in 956 AD, Zhou Shizong conquered Huainan. It took general Zhao Kuangyin more than nine months to break the city and achieve success. Due to excessive fatigue, Zhao Kuangyin fell ill after entering the city. He had a poor appetite and refused to eat or drink. At this time, a skillful chef carefully prepared a snack to let him eat. Use good white flour, white sugar, lard, sesame oil, green and red silk, orange cake, walnut kernels and other ingredients to make some filled round snacks. The outer skin of this kind of snack has several layers of flower cakes stacked on top of each other, with distinct golden threads, and the middle is like a rapid whirlpool. It is fried in oil and has a golden color.

When the chef serves the snacks, the aroma is fragrant and the appearance is attractive. When Zhao Kuangyin saw it, he was happy and his appetite increased greatly. He picked one up and took a bite. He felt it was crispy, sweet and very delicious. Take another look at the stuffing inside. It is white and delicate in color, with strands of red threads and strips of green threads, like white clouds with a rainbow. It is delicious and delicious. The more Zhao Kuangyin ate, the more delicious it became. After eating several meals in a row, he recovered from his illness. He was very happy and rewarded the chef generously.

Later, Zhao Kuangyin became the founding emperor of the Song Dynasty. Thinking of the First World War in the Southern Tang Dynasty and this kind of pastry, he said: "Thanks to this kind of pastry, we saved him from the labor of pommel and horse and the illness after the war." So. They called this kind of pastry "Dajiujia".

Since then, the name and preparation method of "Dajiujia" have been passed down. To this day, "Great Rescue" is still famous in the north and south of the Huaihe River. Visitors from out of town come to taste it, and local people often use it as gifts to relatives and friends, which is very popular.

Drums in front of you, gongs in the opposite direction

"Drums in front of you, gongs in front of you", this sentence is already a proverb in Shouxian County, which means that if you have something to say in person, you must mean what you say.

In the urn at the west gate of Shouxian County, two stone carvings are symmetrically inlaid on the north and south walls, with a gong on one side and a drum on the opposite side. This is one of the eight scenic spots in Shouzhou, "Drums are on hand, gongs are on the opposite side".

It is said that during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, a new magistrate came to Shouzhou. Not long after he took office, he saw that the western section of the ancient city wall was in disrepair and had collapsed several times, so he decided to rebuild it. So the people in the county were notified that if they had money, they would contribute money, and if they were able, they would contribute their efforts, and work together to repair the city wall. Unexpectedly, a month after the notice was posted, there was no movement. Why is this? Little did he know that he had called three magistrates to "donate money and food to build the city wall". They filled their pockets but did not build an inch of the city wall. Do you think the people still believe in this new master?

When the day came for the start of construction, Xinzhi County was not discouraged by the lack of enthusiasm of the people in Shouzhou. Early in the morning, he led the government servants to carry tools and went to the foot of the west gate to dig earth and carry rocks together with dozens of civilians. , working until dark. This can cause people to talk a lot. Some said: "The county officials have come to build the city wall. People come all the way here to recruit soil, not just for Shouzhou! Let's go and do it tomorrow!" But others said: "It's not just a pretense to deceive people." , Each term is more cunning than the last!" But on the tenth day, Xinzhi County was still working on the construction site. Another ten days later, he was seen transporting stones with the peasants. The difference was that now there were not dozens of people, but several. Hundreds of people. People inside and outside the city took the initiative to participate in the work of repairing the city wall. Some merchants and store owners took the initiative to donate money and gifts to support the city wall construction. The original two-month project was completed in forty days.

To commemorate this incorruptible "parent official", the people of Shouzhou erected a stone inscription of "Drums on the opposite side and gongs on the opposite side" in the west gate of the city to commend him for his virtues of keeping his word and being honest and honest.

One person attained the Tao, and a chicken or a dog ascended to heaven

According to records in ancient books such as "Shui Jing Zhu" and "Taiping Huanyu Ji": Liu An, the king of Huainan in the Western Han Dynasty, was born in Shouchun, and believed in the secret method of immortals and Hongbao. Thousands of alchemy experts were invited as guests, hoping for the magic of immortality. One day, eight old men asked to see Liu An. When the gatekeeper saw that they were eight old men with good-looking men, they refused to tell them, and eight hectares instantly turned into eight boys. The doorman was shocked and immediately reported Liu An. Liu An didn't care about wearing clothes, so he went out barefoot to greet him and held the disciple's ceremony. After Hachigong stayed, Ri and Liu An went to the mountain to practice Taoism and refine elixirs. Soon the elixir was refined, Liu An took it, and "ascended to heaven" with Hachigong. The remaining medicine was in the pot, and the chickens and dogs licked and pecked it, and all the medicine ascended to heaven. There was a spectacle of "cocks crowing in the sky, dogs barking in the clouds". This gave rise to idioms and allusions such as "Everyone attains the Tao, chickens and dogs ascend to heaven", "Chickens and dogs are both immortals", "Huainan chickens and dogs", etc. The mountain in the north of Shouchun City was also named Bagong Mountain.

Liu Jinding died in battle at the Foot-Binding Temple

The Foot-Binding Temple is located near Wanfu Town. Legend has it that Zhao Kuangyin defeated Shouzhou and was trapped in Nantang (in today's Shouxian County). Zhao's general Liu Jinding was ordered to break out and move troops to the north. Liu Jinding fought his way out of the siege and found reinforcements from his younger brother Zhao Guangyi. However, the army moved slowly, and Liu Jinding led a hundred light cavalry to fight back to Shouzhou.

At this time, the soldiers of the Southern Tang Dynasty set up a formation of ghosts and surrounded Shouzhou City. Regardless of physical fatigue, Liu Jinding led his troops and horses to attack Shouzhou.

She rushed and rushed, rushing to the north gate. However, the thousand-jin gate at the north gate has been lowered, and Liu Jin will not be able to enter the city. So she turned around and headed towards the east gate to kill. She rushed and rushed, and rushed to the east gate. But the east gate tower collapsed, and Liu Jin was unable to enter the city. So she went to the south gate again. The enemy troops at the south gate were defeated. The water channel at the south gate had been filled with rolling logs and rocks, but they still couldn't get in. Finally, they reached the west gate. The enemy had already burned the west gate, and the fire could not be extinguished for a while. So Liu Jinding simply turned around and charged into the Southern Tang formation again, killing the enemy soldiers until they fell on their backs. They were defeated and fled for their lives.

Liu Jinding went in and out seven times, leading everyone to kill one floor after another. He fought for seventy-seven forty-nine formations in a row. If he couldn't kill one side, he would kill there, beating the enemy like firewood. They were like lumps and howling. But there were too many enemies coming, and we just couldn't get out. There were flowers on her arms, waist, crotch, and thighs. She was hit by several arrows and covered in blood. The guards around her were scattered, and she was the only one left. Liu Jinding's horse was so fast that he finally broke out of the encirclement and left the enemy behind. When she ran to the Qianhe River, the peach blossom horse under her crotch screamed and finally died of exhaustion. Liu Jinding lost his horse and had to wade across the river by himself. The river water soaked my shoes and socks. Liu Jinding was also tired, so he took off his combat boots by the river, untied his footcloth and placed it on the bluestone by the river to dry. While Liu Jinding was resting, he pulled out the arrow from his body, then tore off his shirt and wrapped the wound. The arrows in other places are easy to pull out, but the arrow in the back is difficult to pull out. Liu Jinding tried several times but couldn't reach it. Anyway, it was blocked by the armor and it couldn't penetrate the flesh deeply, so he simply stopped pulling it out and let it stick in there. After a while, the footcloth was also dried. Liu Jinding bound his feet again. Just halfway through the entanglement, the sound of killing broke out, and the pursuers of the Southern Tang Dynasty arrived. Liu Jinding quickly jumped up to fight, and once again killed the soldiers of the Southern Tang Dynasty and fled in all directions. Liu Jinding jumped out and gave chase, but the foot binding was not completely tied and came loose after a few rounds. Liu Jinding accidentally tripped on his foot binding and fell down. It didn't matter that she fell. There was an arrow stuck in her back but she didn't take it out. This time it was stabbed from the back to the front. Liu Jinding screamed, kicked his legs, and died. When the enemy saw Liu Jinding's fall, they gathered together and cut off Liu Jinding's head and sent it to the capital to ask for merit.

Two days later, a large number of reinforcements from the Song Dynasty arrived. Zhao Kuangyin found Liu Jinding's headless body in the grass by the river. He buried it here and built a temple to commemorate Liu Jinding. Later generations called this temple " Footbinding Temple”. Because Liu Jinding's headless body was buried here, this mountain range was called "Headless Grave Ridge".

There is a Tujia Alley in Yinxian Ancient Town. Legend has it that the Chen and Wang families passed by in the alley, and their courtyards were only separated by a wall. A jujube tree was planted on the left side of the wall of the Chen family. Three years later, the jujube tree was filled with red dates. Its branches crossed the wall and stretched into the Wang family courtyard. Ripe red dates fell from time to time. The Wang family thinks that our family should not enjoy the dates produced by the jujube tree next door. So they made a bamboo fence and placed it diagonally under the jujube branches so that the fallen jujubes would roll back into Chen's courtyard. After the Chen family found out, they quietly raised the bamboo fence to prevent the dates from rolling over. They grow dates and weave fences every year. The Wang family thinks it’s better to move to another place, so as not to affect the relationship between neighbors over time. When the Chen family heard the news, they were deeply disturbed and decided to saw off the jujube tree. When the Wang family saw the jujube tree lying on the ground, they expressed deep regret and asked, "Why did you saw off the jujube tree that was producing jujubes?" The Chen family said, "Although jujube trees are good, they are not as good as Zhuju!" "Ed. The story of picking up jujubes on fences and leaving neighbors behind by sawing trees is still passed down by people today.
