It is best to replace the high branches of old jujube trees in two years: in the first winter, complete the reshaping, saw off the main branches that are too high, and let them send out new branches at the lower part; in the second spring, they will sprout. In the past, scions (branches) of superior varieties were grafted onto new branches using the method of single-bud paratomy grafting. After grafting, the sprouts on the rootstock should be wiped out promptly to concentrate nutrients for the growth of grafted buds.
