Why are there women in Buddhist scriptures who are rich, poor, noble, beautiful and ugly?
Mrs. Shengwan is the daughter of King Pasenadi of Sravasti. She is also the princess of Yuja Kingdom.
Mrs. Shengwan has a distinguished status, but her appearance is not very good-looking, which often arouses doubts in her heart.
Once, when Sakyamuni Buddha was at the Gion Monastery in Savatthi State, she came to the Buddha and paid homage to the Buddha, and then respectfully asked the Buddha several questions:
World Honored One!
1. Why are some women ugly, ugly, frightening, poor and humble?
2. Why do some women have ugly faces, rough bodies, and scary looks, but are rich and powerful?
3. Why are some women outstandingly beautiful but poor and from humble backgrounds?
4. Why are some women beautiful and dignified, comely and respectable, rich and blessed, and noble?
The Buddha taught: "Victory! A woman has an ugly face, a rough body, a scary look, and is poor and humble. This is because she had a bad temper in her past life and was easily angry. If someone said that she was not the best, she would be jealous. Resentment, anger and hatred; at the same time, she does not give food, supplies, various belongings, or fragrant flowers to recluses (monastics) or brahmans; she is also jealous by nature, seeing others receive possessions, honors, and respect , respect, courtesy, worship, jealousy, jealousy and anger! Women are ugly, ugly, and frightening, but they are rich and powerful. This is because of their bad temper in the past life. , when someone said she was not, she became angry, resentful, angry, and disgusted, but she often provided food, drink, household items, all property, building land or houses, as well as fragrant flowers and fruits as alms to recluses and brahmins; and She has no jealousy and is able to express joy and admiration when she sees others receiving wealth, honor, respect, admiration, and admiration.
She is a beautiful woman, but she is poor and has a humble background. Because of his gentle nature in the past life, he was not angry when someone said bad things about her and could tolerate it. However, he was unwilling to make any offerings or donations to ascetics and brahmins. He was also jealous by nature and saw others gain wealth, honor, respect, and admiration. Being treated with courtesy and worship makes her jealous and often arrogant. The reason why a woman is dignified, beautiful, comely, noble in character, rich in wealth and has great merits is because she had a gentle temperament in her past life. She is patient and does not care about or get angry when people say she is wrong. She is able to use all her property to build a house, house, fragrant flowers, fruits, food, medicine, respectfully make offerings to ascetics and brahmins, and do good deeds without being jealous of others. Be humble and courteous in words and deeds, and always praise others for their kindness.
Sheng Huan! This is why women are rich, poor, noble and beautiful.
Mrs. Sheng Huan listened. The Buddha said with shame and joy! "World Honored One! After listening to your instructions, I completely understand the reason why I am ugly but have a noble life. It is like getting light from darkness and discovering Kangqu from the wilderness. Daodao, this principle is so wonderful.
From today on, even if someone says bad things about me, I will not be angry, and I will not be jealous of others. I will always praise the goodness of others and be kind to others. I offer all my property, food, medicine, buildings, fragrant flowers, and offerings to the recluses and brahmins.
There are many women under my control. I also want to teach them to learn and behave in this way. Please accept me as my disciple. Son! I want to take refuge in the Three Jewels of Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha for the rest of my life.
Conclusion:
After listening to the Buddha’s answer, Mrs. Shengwan’s mind has become bright and wise. Readers, have you grasped the key to both beauty and wealth? First, cultivate a gentle temperament, be modest and tolerant, not careless, not jealous, and be able to praise other people's good deeds with joy. Secondly, you must use clothing, food, and other virtues. Donate bedding, medicine, incense, flowers, homes, and property to respect and support monks. The seeds you sow in this life can be harvested in the next life. If this is the cause and such is the effect, the Buddha's truth will help you escape poverty forever. , Ugliness and meanness [PS Be good-tempered]
1. Smile
Some people say that a smile is the most beautiful flower blooming on the face. As the saying goes: "Don't hit a smiling person with your fist." The smiling expression is always charming, pleasing and makes people feel friendly. The most important thing is that smile not only gives people the external beauty, but also the message conveyed by the smiling expression, which is a pleasant and beautiful emotion. Smile always brings joy and happiness to people and brings spiritual satisfaction.
Always put a smile on your face, convey goodwill to everyone, and create greater value at no cost at all. This is the most convenient and effective beauty recipe.
2. Praise more
Everyone likes to hear good words, and not just people. The Buddha has already said in the Surangama Sutra: "Everything in the universe can hear and perceive." From experiments on water, scientists have discovered how water crystals change their shape in response to external sounds. Dr. Masaru Emoto conducted experiments based on the principle that water will change due to the vibration of an object. When he played the famous songs of Mozart and Beethoven, under the microscope, he saw the water crystals constantly changing wonderfully with the beautiful melodies.
Say nice words to the water, and the water crystallizes into beautiful patterns; when you say bad words to the water, the water crystals become chaotic.
This shocking result also reflects the impact of the human spirit on matter. We further see that good thoughts can make matter beautiful, while evil thoughts can make matter ugly. Looking at these pictures, parents may understand that if they encourage and praise their children more, their children will be smarter and more beautiful. Praise others more and speak kind words, and the more you hear them, the more beautiful you will become.
3. People who tolerate humiliation more and don’t get angry
People who tolerate humiliation more and don’t get angry naturally have good-looking faces. "The Sutra on the Retribution of Sin and Blessings by the Buddha" records: "A person is ugly because he likes to be angry and resentful." It shows that ugly people are like to be angry and resentful in their previous lives. "He is an upright man, his color is white, and his appearance is the best. His hands are soft, and his breath is fragrant. When people see their appearance, they are all delighted and they look at it without getting tired of it. It comes from enduring humiliation." It means that he looks upright and fair, has a radiant face, and has soft hands. People who are loved by everyone and who never tire of looking at them are the result of cultivating patience.
4. Remember the Buddha and visualize the Buddha
In "The Buddha Speaks of the Mahayana Sutra of Infinite Life, Ornament, Purity, Equality and Enlightenment", "Today, World Honored One, all the roots of the body and form are pure and radiant. The majestic and majestic Buddhist temple has never been seen before. "The World Honored One was blessed by the divine power of Amitabha because he recalled and recited the Buddha's name that day, which made his appearance that day particularly beautiful and majestic. When he recited Amitabha, all the Buddhas in the ten directions merged with Sakyamuni Buddha. Sakyamuni Buddha immediately became all the Buddhas. The majesty of the Buddha's appearance can be imagined. Even the most solemn Buddha will receive the blessings of all Buddhas and his face will become more solemn when he chants the Buddha's name. If we sincerely remember and visualize the Buddha, how can our face remain beautiful?
Many classics tell us that the Buddha’s appearance is the best appearance! When we recite the Buddha's name, we have the Buddha in our hearts, and our appearance becomes the Buddha's image without even realizing it. If we want to look good, we should recite Buddha's name more often. By chanting Buddha's name and visualizing the Buddha, your body and mind will gradually become like a Buddha. When Sakyamuni Buddha thought about Amitabha, his appearance changed into that of Amitabha, showing his incomparable majesty.
5. Gratitude
Those who know how to be grateful are the most beautiful. Be grateful for everything you have obtained, be grateful for every flower, every grass, every person and every thing. Always have a grateful heart for everything, and charming flowers will bloom in your heart. How can a person whose heart is full of fragrance not be filled with the beauty of a flower?
6. More flowers are presented in front of the Buddha
The "Buddha's Sutra on the Retribution of Sins and Blessings" records that "people are ugly and dark because they cover the light in front of the Buddha." The reason for being ugly and dark It is because the light in front of the Buddha is blocked. It can be seen from this that if you often present flowers in front of the Buddha and decorate the Buddha statue, you will definitely get a good appearance.
7. The power of the mind
A person's appearance is inseparable from his inner thoughts. Appearances come from the heart, and appearance is mostly the external manifestation of inner thoughts. When a person is angry, he must be hateful and disgusting. If a person has a compassionate and gentle heart, his appearance will definitely be kind, which will make people happy. A Western psychologist said: "What your mentality is like, what your life will be like, and what your destiny will be like."
If you want to be a beautiful person, Look at the world with a beautiful mind, and you will not only find that everything becomes beautiful, but your own appearance will become more and more pleasing to the eye!
8. The closer you are to "beautiful people"
As the saying goes, "the one who is close to vermillion is red, the one who is close to ink is black." If you are close to "beautiful people", you will naturally be affected by their beauty philosophy. Influenced by others, sooner or later you will become a "fellow-minded person". "Beauty" not only refers to a person with a beautiful appearance, but more importantly, a person with a beautiful soul. Constant contact with "beautiful people" will invisibly allow your soul to be exposed to more beauty. Natural beauty also comes from the heart.
9. Reciting the name of the Buddha
Is it a bit nonsense to say that chanting the name of the Buddha will make you beautiful? The "Yoga Collection to Save Ananda Rani Yankou Rail Rituals Sutra" says: "Dear Buddhas, if you hear the name of the Tathagata Wonderful Color Body, you will not be ugly, your faculties will be sufficient, your appearance will be perfect, and it will be extraordinary. Duanyan is the best in heaven and earth. "The scriptures have already explained that chanting the Buddha's name can change a person's appearance, and the Buddha's mantra actually provides a convenient way to become beautiful.
If you want to have a solemn appearance, have a sense of beauty, and be connected to all living beings, you can always recite: Namo Wonderful Color Body Tathagata, Namo Silent Sound Tathagata, and Namo Precious Lotus-Step Tathagata. When reciting these three Buddhas, you can get rid of your previous ugly "genes" (such as your previous anger, resentment, etc.).
There is a proverb in ancient times: "If there is a heart but no appearance, the appearance will follow the mind; if there is an appearance but no heart, the appearance will disappear with the heart." This sentence shows that a person's appearance will follow his mind Changed for good or evil. Even though he already has a ferocious appearance, he always has a compassionate heart, and the evil aspect will soon be transformed into auspicious appearance.
★ I hope that the appearance will be solemn, beautiful, and related to all living beings, and recite: "Namo Wonderful Color Body Tathagata, Namo Silent Sound Tathagata, Namo Precious Lotus Steps Tathagata." When reciting these three Buddhas, get rid of your previous ugly genes (such as your previous anger and jealousy, etc.).
In addition, reprinting this article can also get the reward of good looks, because you let more people understand the cause and effect of good looks!
