Introduction to Ophthalmology of Shanghai Vision Rehabilitation Center

Master overview

In 2002, Shanghai Vision Rehabilitation Center was composed of the Department of Ophthalmology of the First People's Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University and the Department of Ophthalmology of the Railway Central Hospital affiliated to Tongji University. The Department of Ophthalmology of the First People's Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University was founded by Professor Zhao Dongsheng, who has the reputation of "one eye in the East". 1949 pioneered the operation of retinal detachment in China.

At present, it has become an all-round professional ophthalmology discipline featuring complex retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, diagnosis and treatment of ocular surface diseases such as fundus diseases, cataract, glaucoma and corneal transplantation with integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine.

Shanghai Institute of Ophthalmology was established in 1985. Postgraduate teaching began at 1986, which belongs to the doctoral program of ophthalmology in Shanghai Medical University. 1995 became the leading key discipline of ophthalmology in Shanghai. From 65438 to 0998, Shanghai Science and Technology Commission established Shanghai Key Laboratory of Ophthalmology in our hospital, becoming one of the six medical laboratories of Shanghai Science and Technology Commission. 200 1 became the affiliated hospital of Shanghai jiaotong university, and was approved as the doctoral program of ophthalmology in Shanghai jiaotong university in 2002. After nearly ten years of key investment by the government, this subject is currently in a leading position in the field of diagnosis and treatment of vitreoretinal diseases in China.

At present, the focus is on the diagnosis and treatment of vitreoretinal fundus diseases, such as complex retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine fundus diseases, complex eye trauma and so on. At the same time, phacoemulsification, glaucoma, corneal transplantation, stem cell and amniotic membrane transplantation, eye tumors and other operations are widely carried out.

In the late 1940s, Professor Zhao Dongsheng, the "Eye of the East", pioneered the diagnosis, treatment and operation of retinal detachment in China and became the founder of ophthalmic retinal surgery in China. Professor Zhang Xi pioneered the treatment of macular hole retinal detachment with double needle gas-liquid exchange method; In the 1990s, research on glass substitutes and small packages was carried out, which was popularized and applied in 256 units in 28 provinces and cities, with more than 20,000 cases, filling the gaps at home and abroad. The research on the diagnosis and treatment of complex retinal detachment has improved the success rate of surgery to 96%, which is at the international advanced level. At the end of 1990s, the mechanism of proliferative vitreoretinopathy was studied, and the method of combining heavy water with gas injection was the first in China to treat early giant hiatus, with a success rate of 92%. The first double-ring ligation operation in the world was used to treat recurrent RD, and the success rate was 89%. The classic ligation and compression operation was improved, and the operation time was shortened by 35%. At present, 654.38+10,000 patients with retinal detachment have been diagnosed and treated, of which 35-50% are from outside the city, with a total success rate of 98.3%. Vitrectomy and laser therapy for diabetic retinopathy were first carried out in China, and the cumulative number of cases has exceeded 10000. With the support of internal medicine, the scale of operation has been rapidly expanded by making full use of the advantages of general hospitals, so that some patients with poor general condition and multiple organ dysfunction can receive surgical treatment safely. The success rate of operation reached 85%, and there was no 1 case of death, which was in a leading position in China. Treating ocular fundus diseases with integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine is one of the characteristics of the discipline. With the help of the older generation of Chinese medicine experts, omentum ⅰ and omentum ⅱ, Chinese patent medicines, were first created and made in China by using the methods of seepage and promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis. Accumulated treatment of more than 300,000 people with various fundus diseases has been adopted by hundreds of hospitals across the country. In recent years, Huang Ma 1 has been successfully developed for age-related macular degeneration and high myopia, which has been welcomed by patients. At present, the subject has also carried out internationally advanced minimally invasive microsurgery, including endoscopic surgery and minimally invasive vitreoretinal surgery, which not only greatly increased the surgical indications and saved a large number of blind patients who could not be treated before, but also reduced the surgical reaction and the surgical risk of patients.

In addition, since the 1960s, the Department of Ophthalmology of the First Hospital of the City has started to offer a national class on retinal detachment, which was later promoted to the national continuing medical education project "National class on diagnosis and treatment of retinal detachment". Since 1985, 15, Xinjiang Ophthalmology Class 1 has been held to support the frontier construction. At present, ophthalmologists 1562 people have been trained, most of whom are famous retinal microsurgers in China. In 2000, the national course of diagnosis and treatment of glycosaminoglycan disease was approved by the Ministry of Health as the first national-level continuing medical education project in China, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of diabetic retinopathy. The center receives 20 senior doctors every year. At present, the center is in a leading position in China in complex retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, diagnosis and treatment of fundus diseases with integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine, corneal transplantation, cataract diagnosis and treatment, research scale and clinical quality, and some disciplines have reached the international advanced level, forming five dominant disciplines and initially forming a national-level ophthalmology teaching and research center, forming a central position in the diagnosis and treatment of vitreoretinal surgery in China.
