1, grinding wheel cutting
High-speed rotating grinding wheel is used to cut steel. This is a common cutting method. The grinding wheel cutting machine is light and flexible, simple and convenient to use, and is widely used in various occasions, especially in construction sites and indoor decoration. It is mainly used for cutting some small-diameter square pipes, round pipes and special-shaped pipes.
2. Sawing
The method of cutting a workpiece or material into grooves with a saw blade is called sawing. Sawing is carried out by a metal band sawing machine. Cutting material is the most basic requirement of metal processing, so sawing machine is the standard of mechanical processing industry. In the use of sawing machine, it is necessary to select the appropriate saw blade according to the hardness of the material and adjust the best sawing speed.
3, flame cutting (gas cutting)
The process of flame cutting is to heat the metal through the chemical reaction between oxygen and hot steel to soften it and finally melt it. The heating gas is mainly acetylene or natural gas.
Flame cutting can only cut carbon plates, and is not suitable for other types of metals, such as stainless steel or copper-aluminum materials.
The advantage of flame cutting is low cost, and the maximum cutting thickness can reach two meters. The disadvantage is that the heat affected zone and thermal deformation are relatively large, the section is rough and there are many slags hanging. Considering the subsequent processing, more allowance should be put in.
4, plasma cutting
Plasma cutting was invented in 1950s. It is a processing method that uses the heat of high-temperature plasma arc to melt (and evaporate) the metal at the notch of the workpiece, and uses the momentum of high-speed plasma to remove the melted metal to form the notch.
5. Laser cutting
Laser cutting is to use a high-energy laser beam to heat, locally melt and vaporize the metal to complete the cutting of materials, which is usually used for efficient and precise cutting of thin steel plates (< 30mm).
The cutting quality of laser is excellent, not only with high cutting speed and high dimensional accuracy (up to 0.05mm), but also because the laser beam acts on a small area, the heat affected zone is very small and the workpiece is hardly deformed.
6, water knife cutting
Water jet cutting is a processing method that uses high-pressure water to cut metal. With the continuous progress of technology, pomegranate sand, emery and other abrasives are mixed into high-pressure water to assist cutting, which improves cutting speed and cutting thickness (up to 200mm). The accuracy of water jet cutting can reach 0.4mm or higher.
