Figure 16 Sketch of Young Tree Modeling of Single Trunk Tree
(2) Choose two trunks for each double trunk tree. After planting pomegranate seedlings, select two robust branches, cut 70 cm, and drain all the other branches. In the second, third and fourth years, the pruning method is the same as that of single trunk. According to azimuth180, 4 ~ 5 main branches are left in 2 layers on each trunk. A middle twig should be left between the two trunks, and the height of the trunk formed is about 33 cm, the included angle between the trunk and the ground is about 50, and the included angle between the main branch and the central trunk is about 45 (Figure 17).
(3) Choose three trunks for each tree. After the pomegranate seedlings were planted, three robust branches were selected and cut off at 70 cm. The subsequent shaping and pruning methods were the same as those of single stem. According to the orientation, 4-5 main branches with two layers are selected on each trunk, and many middle branchlets are reserved in the holes between the three trunks. The formed trunk is 33 cm high, the included angle between the trunk and the ground is about 50, and the included angle between the main branch and the central trunk is 45 ~ 50 (Figure 18).

(4) Most pomegranate trees are cuttage propagation, with 3-4 branches per seedling. After surviving, let it grow naturally, and a large number of sprouting branches often appear in the rhizosphere, which can reach more than 20. In the growth process of 1 ~ 5 years, let it grow in the first year, prune it in winter or spring of the next year, select 5 ~ 6 strong tillers as the trunk, and remove all the rest. After pruning in winter, the regenerated tillers and overgrown branches can be thinned to form a semi-circular crown with multiple stems (Figure 19).
