Shanghai Second People's Hospital, formerly known as Shanghai Hospital, was founded by the patriot Li Pingshu in 1909. It was the first Chinese and Western hospital founded by the Chinese themselves. After the hospital was established, it provided free diagnosis and treatment to the poor, actively helped revolutionary people, and actively participated in the revolutionary struggle. From 1943 to 1944, Zou Taofen was secretly admitted to Shanghai Hospital. Dean Zeng Yaozhong risked being followed and arrested by the Japanese invaders and Wang puppets, and personally treated and cared for him. He also adopted strict confidentiality measures and avoided being hunted by enemy agents. Zou Taofen persisted in writing "A Story of the Remaining Life in Trouble" on his hospital bed until the last moment of his life. The hospital also participated in revolutionary struggles such as the May 30th Movement. The hospital has a showroom for the public to visit free of charge.
