Will trichiasis leave a scar? Nursing methods of trichiasis operation
Eyelashes are long backwards, so they are called inverted eyelashes. Inverted eyelashes have a great influence on people, which will affect our eyes. Although eyelashes have the function of protecting eyes, if they grow backwards, they will bring us trouble. There is an operation to reverse eyelashes in medicine. Will this leave a scar? What are the nursing methods of trichiasis surgery?

1, will it leave a scar?

The operation was not very painful. Generally, it takes about 2-3 weeks to recover after operation, depending on the condition. Whether it is a double eyelid depends on the situation. If it is a double eyelid now, it is usually a double eyelid. Don't worry, you can go to a third-class first-class hospital for eye examination and treatment.

2. Reasons for inverted eyelashes

There are two types of trichiasis: congenital trichiasis and acquired trichiasis. Congenital trichiasis will exist after birth, usually in the lower eyelid. Because eyelashes can sting the eyeball, the baby often blinks and tears. If they stab the cornea, their eyes will turn red and be afraid of light. Acquired trichiasis is the most common, caused by trachoma. Because trachoma can cause eyelid conjunctival scar, which in turn leads to eyelid entropion and trichiasis. Eyeburn, eyelid trauma or eyelid surgery can also cause eyelid scar, leading to normal trichiasis stabbing the eyeball. In addition, diseases such as pemphigoid of the eyes can also cause trichiasis because of the scar of eyelid conjunctiva.

3, inverted eyelashes surgery

Surgical correction of trichiasis is the "last chance" to prevent blindness caused by trachoma and the most urgent action. There are many surgical methods to correct trichiasis, but one operation is called double tarsal rotation, which is simple and has a high success rate.

Surgical correction is a corrective operation according to the specific situation of customers, that is, the length of eyelid fissure, the shape of eyelid and the distance between upper eyelid margin and eyebrow. According to the degree of skin relaxation and varus, the redundant skin and the width of skin are removed, that is, the length of eyelid cleft, the shape of eyelid, the distance from the upper eyelid margin to eyebrow, etc. Test the proper position of the double eyelids with a slightly bent wire and fix them with a meter ruler. With the gentian purple line as the symbol, the center point is 6mm away from the eyelid margin, the fixed point between the inner canthus and the center point is about 4mm away from the eyelid margin, and the outer point is between the inner canthus and the outer canthus, and the distance from the eyelid margin is generally not less than the midpoint or 0.5 ~1mm.. After connecting three points along the eyelid margin arc, we can observe whether the double eyelids are suitable, and the height of the double eyelid line from the eyelid margin should be adjusted according to the length of the eyelid fissure. Cut the skin along the incision. If the skin of the upper eyelid is too loose, the incision will extend all the way to the orbital margin, and when it reaches the angle of the outer canthus, it will not continue to follow the arc downward, and the incision is consistent with the crow's feet of the outer canthus.

4, postoperative care

1, try to avoid water accumulation in the surgical site within 7 days after trichiasis correction;

2, ensure the surgical site clean, prevent infection. If there is blood scab or secretion, it can be wiped with sterile physiological saline;

3. avoid eating irritating foods such as peppers;

4, in strict accordance with the doctor's advice and follow-up.

5, the harm of inverted eyelashes

Eyelashes with abnormal growth direction, especially those growing backward to the corneal surface, not only often rub the corneal epithelium, causing foreign body sensation, fear of light, tears and other symptoms, but also cause eyeball congestion, conjunctivitis, corneal epithelial shedding, keratitis, corneal pannus, corneal ulcer, corneal leukoplakia and so on, further affecting vision. People's eyes blink a dozen times every minute, and their eyelids are like a brush. Conjunctiva and cornea are brushed more than ten times per minute and thousands of times a day. Transparent and delicate cornea, if rubbed constantly, will gradually lose its unique sense of transparency, which is very harmful. Therefore, the occurrence of inverted eyelashes should be treated as soon as possible and must not be ignored.
