1992 graduated from the medical department of Shanghai Medical University (now Fudan University Medical College), and 1997 obtained the doctor's degree in plastic surgery from Shanghai Second Medical University (now Shanghai Jiaotong University Medical College). He is a visiting scholar in plastic surgery at Yale University Medical College (2005), Harvard University Medical College (2007) and new york University Medical Center (2008).
