What is the reason for itchy soles?
If you have beriberi, your feet will itch. The so-called beriberi is what we usually call beriberi, which is divided into three types: squamous keratinization, erosion and blisters. Then, let me introduce you to the cause of itchy soles.

Causes of itchy soles of feet

1. Sweat blisters are mostly scattered in coarse small blisters, and form annular scales after rupture, which can also form multi-annular scales, which can gradually expand into pieces, gradually thicken the skin, and consciously itch.

2.Intertoe type is more common between the 3rd, 4th or 4th and 5th toes, showing a small amount of scales (Figure 1), which makes people feel itchy. Patients often scratch unconsciously, sometimes the scales are not obvious, and they only feel itchy, which is called asymptomatic type, but they are often carriers. Scratching is easy to cause secondary bacterial infection, local erosion, dampness and oozing blood.

3. Squamous keratosis is characterized by limited reddish scaly patches on the sole, heel and lateral edge of the foot, with obvious surface keratinization, rough and dry, and clear or unclear boundaries (Figure 2). Severe symptoms in winter are easy to cause chapping. Some papules or blisters often appear in summer. The course of disease is chronic, the skin can thicken for a long time, and the toenails are easy to get tired. This type is mostly caused by Trichophyton rubrum, which is stubborn and difficult to cure.

4. Wet erosion type This type is mostly secondary to toe type or sweat blister type, mostly caused by excessive scratching, often secondary to bacterial infection, obvious local inflammation, erosion and exudation, and conscious itching and pain, which is more common in summer.
