Put the paper on a flat surface. Put the paper vertically. You can use any kind of paper at home. If you want to make your paws strong, you must use thicker paper. Turn the upper right corner over. When folding, align the top edge with the side edge. At this time, a sharp corner will be formed on the left side of the paper. Turn the sharp corner diagonally. After folding, the paper should look like a rectangle with missing corners.
Fold the upper bevel inward. Align the top edge with the hypotenuse. Now the origami should become a square. Turn the origami so that the right angle of the triangle is up or out. Fold into a triangle. Fold the square diagonally in half. So origami becomes a triangle. Fold the paper in half and imagine a vertical line from the top to the bottom, and divide the triangle in half from the middle. So you will fold out a right triangle.
The first few times, you may have to draw this line with a pencil. Use a T-square to ensure that the straight line passing through the midpoint of the triangle base is perpendicular to the base. The purpose of folding is to fold a crease, which is very important for the following steps. Fold the left side of the triangle to the crease. Unfold the right triangle just folded, and fold the hypotenuse folded twice directly to the center line of the triangle. The hypotenuse folded inward should be perpendicular to and beyond the bottom edge.
Repeat the previous folding step twice. Fold the same side twice again. Then, you will see that the origami presents the shape of a claw. Be careful when folding along the imaginary pencil line. Make sure that each polyline is flattened and at the same angle. If the folded part is upturned and not close to the opposite side, then the claws are easy to open. Insert the triangle at the bottom into the end opening. You may need to open the opening with your fingers to insert the protruding part at the bottom. Hold the origami to make the opening bigger, so that it can be inserted easily.
Open the opening in the middle of the triangle. Put your finger directly into the triangle and let it open. Origami looks like claws. Fingers may be a little tight when they are first stuffed into paper claws. The tighter the origami is, the less likely it is that the claws will fall off from the fingers.
