The main manifestations of conjunctivitis dogs are fear of light, tears, conjunctival congestion, flushing swelling, pain, and secretions in the corners of the eyes. Simple conjunctivitis often exudes serous and mucinous secretions; Mucus and purulent secretions are common in infectious conjunctiva. Eczema often occurs in the skin under the inner corner of the eye for a long time, and the affected part is depilated and itchy. Sometimes the upper and lower eyelids are stuck together by the excluded purulent secretions, and the eyes are obviously swollen and the pain is severe. If the condition is serious, inflammation will spread to the cornea, causing corneal ulcer.
The principle of treating keratitis is to remove the cause, diminish inflammation and relieve pain, prevent infection and promote absorption. 2% ~ 3% boric acid solution, physiological saline or 0. 1% bromogeramine solution are commonly used to remove conjunctival foreign bodies. When relieving inflammation and pain, several layers of gauze can be soaked in the above eye drops and applied to the affected eyes, 2 ~ 4 times a day. As for eye drops, cortisone eye drops, penicillin solution (1000 unit penicillin, 1 ml distilled water) and 1% neomycin solution can be used for eye drops, three to four times a day. When the pain is severe, you can choose 3% procaine hydrochloride eye drops. For suppurative conjunctivitis, wash eyes with 3% boric acid solution first, and then apply ointment such as penicillin, chloramphenicol or chlortetracycline. Chronic conjunctivitis can be treated with 0.2% ~ 2% zinc sulfate solution and 0.5% ~ 1% alum solution, 2 ~ 3 times a day.
