Does the little boy need an operation for phimosis?
Phycosis means that the foreskin mouth is narrow and the penis head cannot be exposed. The slight epithelial adhesion between the inner plate of foreskin and the surface of penis head is absorbed, the foreskin retreats and the penis head is exposed. If adhesions are not absorbed, congenital phimosis will be formed. Acquired phimosis is mostly secondary to inflammation of penis foreskin, which makes the foreskin mouth form scar contracture. If phimosis is serious, it will cause dysuria and even urinary retention. When scale accumulates, the penis head may itch. Long-term chronic stimulation can induce infection and canceration, white spots and stones.

Harm of phimosis

Treatment 1. For phimosis in children, the prepuce mouth can be enlarged and the prepuce can be repeatedly turned up and reset. For adult phimosis, circumcision is needed. For impacted prepuce, manual reduction is urgently needed, and dorsal incision of prepuce is necessary.

2. Circumcision is often used for phimosis, and the indications are: ① fibrous stenosis ring at the foreskin mouth; (2) Recurrent dermatitis of glans penis; ③ After 6 years old, the foreskin mouth becomes narrower.

3. Circumcision should be avoided in cases of penile burial, and plastic surgery should be carried out. This operation can also be done if the foreskin is too long; If you don't have surgery, you should pay attention to cleaning and turn over frequently.

For congenital phimosis in infancy, the foreskin can be turned up repeatedly to enlarge the foreskin mouth. The technique should be gentle, not too eager to shrink the foreskin. When the penis head is exposed, clean the scales, apply antibiotic ointment or liquid paraffin for lubrication, and then repair the foreskin, otherwise it will cause incarcerated phimosis. After this treatment, most children can be cured with age, and only a few need circumcision. Patients with acquired phimosis need circumcision because their foreskin has a narrow fibrous ring. There are different opinions about the indications of circumcision. Some countries and regions perform circumcision after birth because of religious or ethnic customs. Some people think that circumcision can reduce the incidence of penile cancer and cervical cancer in married women. However, some data show that the incidence of these two cancers is very low in Israel where circumcision is routinely performed and in Nordic countries where circumcision is not popular, and there is no significant difference.
