The Origin of Merlion in Singapore
Merlion was designed by Fraser Bruner, then curator of Van Crever Aquarium. Merlion's lion head represents a magical beast recorded in the book & gt, which was seen on this small island in the park by Prince San Niro Udama of Sanfo Qi Kingdom in 1 1 century A.D., and later it was known that it was a lion. In this regard, the prince named the island "Singapura". In Sanskrit, "Singapura" means "Singa" and "pura". Fishtail symbolizes the ancient city of Temasek before the prince discovered the island, and represents that Singapore was developed from a small fishing village.
