How to repair cracks in automobile engine cylinder block
Measures:

1, remove

Remove the high-pressure oil pipe, the oil return pipe from the fine filter to the first cylinder, the air intake branch pipe and two screws.

2, dealing with cracks

Brush the rust at the crack with a steel wire brush, the width is about 15mm, and the length is about 30mm beyond both ends of the crack. Then use an angle grinding wheel to grind a V-shaped groove with a length of 2-3mm, which is about 30mm beyond both ends of the crack.

3. Drilling and tapping

First, stop the crack with a 5mm drill bit at both ends of the crack, and reach the depth of the main waterway 10- 15mm, then drill 5mm holes equidistantly up and down, and tap each hole with M6 tap.

4, cutting templates and patches.

Cut the paper into templates whose two ends are about 20mm longer than the cracks and about 15 mm wide, then stick the template paper on the cracks and punch out the bolt holes. According to this, the iron insert plate with the thickness of 1.5-2.0 mm is cut, the front and back sides are polished, and holes with the thickness of 7.0-7.2 mm are drilled.

5, repair and plastic surgery

Screw the iron patch plate onto the cylinder block with M 16X 15mm bolts and washers, and tap the dummy part of the patch plate lightly when tightening. After inspection, remove the bolts and wiring boards.

6. Glue selection and mixing

Select the special adhesive for automobile, squeeze the A tube and the B tube onto the glass plate in equal amount (it needs to be heated to 30-40℃ in winter), and stir evenly along one direction with a hacksaw bar, such as adding a certain amount of iron powder.

7. Glue repair+repair

Apply the prepared glue to the V-shaped groove and its periphery, press several asbestos ropes or thicker cotton threads into the V-shaped groove, cut out a piece of cotton cloth with the same size as the patch, and stick it on the repair place with double-sided adhesive. Then, apply a small amount of glue to the patch and stick it on the cotton cloth, use a steel cone to find out the center of the bolt hole on the cylinder block, then rotate it to make the cotton cloth have holes, and tighten the bolts in turn. If you feel uncomfortable, you can tap it gently with a hammer to make the patch stick to the cylinder. Finally, apply the extruded glue to the periphery of the patch panel and bolt, and then gently wipe the periphery of the patch panel and bolt with a clean cloth, but don't wipe it clean. It can be put into use after indwelling 12h.
