When was Weifang Arts and Crafts School founded?
In the summer of p>196, Weifang established the Arts and Crafts School, which enrolled more than 15 students, hired old artists to teach and teach with apprentices. In February 1962, the superior asked the school to close. Although the time is not long, it has trained a group of useful talents for the development of Weifang arts and crafts. After the school was closed, in April of that year, the original arts and crafts design office of Weifang Handicraft Administration was cancelled, and Weifang Arts and Crafts Research Institute was established with the Arts and Crafts Service Department attached. Students from arts and crafts schools were properly placed, some of them went to the Institute of Arts and Crafts and some to the factory, all of whom were engaged in their majors, thus preventing brain drain. The Institute of Arts and Crafts has a front shop and a back factory, with workshops or production groups for kites, New Year pictures, nuclear carvings, bronze seals, rubbings, antique copper, velvet embroidery and toys. I remember that the old artists include Guo Lancun, Tian Xiangqian, Xu Peiji, Sun Lirong, Xuan Zuji, Sun Yongchun, Zhang Yucheng, etc. They rely on the production line to teach apprentices skills hand in hand, guide apprentices to increase their knowledge in practice, and explore the promotion and development of traditional products. The products produced are exhibited and sold in arts and crafts service department, department store and Dongfeng shopping mall, and exported to Qingdao, Tianjin, Beijing and other places. My favorite place to visit when I was a child was the Arts and Crafts Service Department at the northeast corner of the intersection of Heping Road and Minsheng Street in Weicheng District. The kites, New Year pictures, embroidery and fans hanging on the wall and placed on the counter were so beautiful that I couldn't enjoy them enough.
