Sparus macrocephalus is a warm-water benthic fish, distributed in the western Pacific, tropical and subtropical waters, from Indonesia to Japan; China is mainly produced in the South China Sea and the southern part of the East China Sea. Usually inhabit the sea area with sand and mud as the bottom material and water depth of 25 ~ 75 meters. Swim slowly, don't travel long distances. The food is mainly long tail, copepod and platypoda. General body length 120 ~ 160 mm, up to 250 mm, can be fished all year round in the South China Sea, and it flourishes in winter and spring. Because the skin is thick and the meat is thick, it is mostly made into dry goods, and some of them are sold fresh.
