Myrica rubra is a common fruit in southern China. It tastes sweet and sour and is nutritious. It can also be processed into canned food, jam, preserves and other foods, with high economic value.
1, land selection
Myrica rubra is a barren fruit tree, which can be planted in most plots, but it is most suitable for hillside plots near water sources and deep and fertile slightly acidic soil. At the same time, we should also pay attention to maturity and listing. Choose to plant mid-late maturing varieties at an altitude of 400-800 meters, and plant early maturing varieties below 400 meters.
Step 2 plant
Choose seedlings with strong adaptability, strong stress resistance, strong disease resistance and high yield temperature for planting. The planting time is generally February-March in spring, when the temperature is suitable for the growth of young trees, which is conducive to improving the survival rate of planting. Pay attention to the density when planting. Myrica rubra can be as high as 7-8 meters, with a huge crown. For the permeability of each plant, generally 25-30 plants are planted per mu. When planting, we should not only make big holes and big seedlings, but also apply plantar fertilizer, strengthen seedlings, extend roots and plant deeply. In addition, pay attention to the proportion of male plants and pollinate with excellent pollen.
3. Soil, fertilizer and water management
In order to make it grow rapidly and increase its yield, the management of soil, fertilizer and water is essential. In addition to applying base fertilizer, topdressing is also needed according to the growth stage. Generally, topdressing is mainly based on plant ash and soil mixed fertilizer, supplemented by appropriate amount of chemical fertilizer and organic fertilizer. Topdressing should be applied 2-3 times a year, especially in fruit period, and potassium fertilizer should be applied emphatically. After planting for 3-4 months, the roots of Myrica rubra will be covered with fixed planting holes. If the root system is weak, the irrigation fertilizer "Root Must Be More" can be applied to promote the root system growth. At this time, if it continues to grow, it will be hindered by hard soil or stones, and it is necessary to dig deep into the surrounding soil to make the soil loose, which is conducive to root growth.
4, plastic pruning
Pruning plants can promote more branches, form a crown and bear fruit early. The specific methods are as follows: after the seedlings are planted, the top of the trunk is cut off to promote their germination. After germination, all the buds below are erased, leaving only the buds above, so that the nutrients are concentrated and they can send out thick branches. In the second year, leave 2-3 strong main branches, cut off all other branches, leave 2-3 new buds on the main branches, and let them continue to branch, so that a circular crown can be formed quickly. In addition, when pruning, all pests and diseases, weak branches, long branches, dead branches and dense branches are cut off, which is not conducive to the growth of main branches. After the fruit is harvested, the old branches should be cut off to avoid excessive consumption of nutrients.
