If there is not much space to touch up the paint, it only takes a few minutes to touch up the paint with a touch-up pen. It will take half a day or a day to go to the 4S shop to touch up the paint, and it will take three or four hours to go to the repair shop. Because repainting requires polishing, primer, original paint, varnish, etc.
Painting process:
1. Clean up.
First, clean the scratched area with clean water and a soft cloth to remove dust and impurities, then clean the scratched area and surrounding area with detergent.
2. Polishing.
Take the prepared sandpaper, dip it in some water, sand the scratches, and try to smooth the paint in the scratches. Special attention should be paid to the fact that if there is any skin explosion, it must be dealt with. It must be dealt with properly. After painting, it will peel off again.
3. Leveling.
If the scraped part is uneven, smooth it with putty and try to fill the recessed part as flat as possible to facilitate painting and avoid affecting the effect.
4. Protection.
Tape newspapers etc. around the parts that need to be painted to protect them from spraying to other places. Also, it’s best to wear gloves and a mask to avoid getting your hands dirty.
5. Spray paint.
Before painting, do an experiment. You can spray it on other iron objects to see if there is any color difference. When spraying, the nozzles should not be too close to each other, and it is not required to spray once. It can be done in three or four times. The paint to be sprayed should be slightly dry between two times, and it can be sprayed every five or six minutes.
6. Pruning.
The painting is finished, don’t worry. After the paint dries, if the joint between the repaired part and the original part is not satisfactory, you can carefully sand it with fine sandpaper dipped in water to make it look more natural.
7. Waxing.
After everything is done, wash it again and finally wax it. Of course, this is limited to minor scratches, if you are too lazy to repair them, you can try it.
