Sometimes it's a small problem, but it can also be a critical issue. What I fear most is that I only know a little bit about it, or “take it for granted” on many issues. For example, patients are asked not to eat or drink the day before general anesthesia. One patient drank juice and was unable to undergo anesthesia the next day. Ask her why she violated the rule after asking her not to drink water beforehand. She actually said plausibly that she was only told not to "drink water" but not "juice". In her mind, juice does not belong to water. Therefore, you must take the trouble to communicate clearly with the doctor before surgery.
