1, do some exercises before coloring the bike. If this is the first time to paint a bicycle, or if the paint used this time is different from last time, do some exercises before you start. You can try your hand on a cheap car rack first, or try your hand on some metal pipes.
2. Clean the frame. You can thoroughly clean the mirror frame with alcohol and non-chemical fiber towels. If the frame is not exposed, you can also polish its surface with sandpaper, which will help paint stick to the surface of the frame. Use 1000- 1500 mesh sandpaper to polish until the surface of the frame looks textured enough. Don't wipe off too much frame material.
Step 3 choose paint. It is very important to choose good quality paint, so that the painted color will last a little longer. You can go to the local art store and try to find the kind of paint jar with low pressure-the slower the paint flows out, the easier it is to operate. You need to choose a kind of paint, and don't mix different brands together, because different brands of paint may be very uncoordinated together.
4, stick a protective strip. Stick the protective tape on the joint between the frame and other parts. Middle shaft joint, seat joint, head joint, etc. Recommend 3M masking tape, which is very easy to use on aluminum frames. In the process of painting, you can also use these strips to protect some places that you don't want to paint, otherwise the paint and tape may fall off.
5. painting. Shake the paint can for at least 3 minutes before painting, and be sure to shake it well. Spray measurement depends on how far it needs to be from the frame, generally between 0.3m and1.2m.. Spray evenly, only one layer at a time, keep your arms moving rhythmically and ensure uniform color. Allow enough time for the first coat to dry completely before spraying the second coat of paint or color.
