Hanbin District is the headquarters of Ankang Municipal Committee, Ankang Municipal People's Government and Ankang Military Division, and the political, economic, cultural and traffic information center of Ankang City. Located in the southeast of Shaanxi Province, on the upper reaches of Hanjiang River.

Hanbin District has a rich historical background. It was founded in the 13th year of Qin Huiwen and Wang (3 12 BC). It is an important transportation hub connecting northwest, southwest and central China, and also the core water source protection area of the middle route project of South-to-North Water Transfer.
