Welcome pine-bonsai management

Origin of welcoming pine: welcoming pine is a light-loving tree species. Suitable for mild, cool and humid climate, guests are welcome to avoid high temperature and dry environment. So it is not suitable for strong light irradiation. In winter, the welcome pine can be placed in the lee of the outdoor, and the shallow basin is best buried underground to facilitate winter management.

How to water the welcome pine: In addition to drying the basin soil in the peak season, pay attention to "withholding water". The basin soil can be kept moist at ordinary times, but no water can accumulate. Spray water on the needles of welcoming pine in dog days, which is beneficial to growth.

Fertilization method: it is not advisable to apply too much fertilizer to welcome guests. Apply thin decomposed cake fertilizer twice a year in spring, water it the next day after fertilization, commonly known as "backwater", and apply fermented cake fertilizer crumbs again in autumn.

Pruning of welcoming pine: The normal leaf length of welcoming pine is 8 ~ 18 cm, and the needles can be controlled at about 6 ~ 8 cm by measures such as bud picking and water conservation, so bud picking is the main method. Every spring, the new buds of welcome pine are lengthened, and the terminal buds are removed about 1b2 before the needles germinate, or all the winter buds can be erased. The terminal bud can be removed according to the needs of the whole stump modeling, with more strong branches and less or no weak branches. In addition, in winter, trees can prune branches and leaves that affect the graceful posture of trees.

Turnover of welcome pine: it is usually done once every 3-4 years, but small shallow pots can also be turned once every 2 years and large deep pots once every 5 years.

Prevention and control of pests and diseases of welcome pine: The common diseases of welcome pine include pine rot and leaf blight, and the pests of welcome pine mainly include Dendroctonus armandii, pine sawfly, Dendrolimus punctatus and Dendrolimus punctatus.

If pine rot and leaf blight occur, the seriously ill branches can be cut off and sprayed with 300 times of 65% wettable thiram or thiram zinc. Dendrolimus punctatus and Dendrolimus punctatus can be sprayed with 50% dichlorvos emulsion 1000 ~ 1500 times. Dendrolimus punctatus can be sprayed with 25% acephate EC or 50% cartap 300 times. Pine sawflies can be controlled by spraying trichlorfon or marathon 1000 ~ 1500 times.
