Planting technology of macadamia nuts How to grow macadamia nuts?
1, land selection

Macadamia nut is a high-grade cash crop in tropical and subtropical regions with strong adaptability. Suitable for planting in hills or flat land below1.200m above sea level. It is required that the highest temperature in summer is generally not higher than 35℃, the highest temperature in winter is not lower than 15℃, and the lowest temperature is not lower than 0℃. There is no frost or occasional light frost all year round. The soil layer is deep, rich in organic matter, with a PH of 5.0 to 6.0 and good drainage.

2. Seed selection

Excellent varieties are characterized by vigorous plant growth, wind resistance, drought tolerance, high yield, high quality, well-proportioned crown and upright and stout branches. In the high-yield period, the average yield per plant is above 25 kg to 50 kg, the grain size is medium, the kernel yield is 30% to 50%, and the first-class kernel accounts for about 98%.

Step 3 plant

Planting should avoid dry, rainy and high temperature seasons, and plant in the early or late rainy season, so as to facilitate the recovery of plant growth. Planting density varies with soil conditions and variety types. Most macadamia nuts are largely self-sterile, so the varieties planted should be crossed (different varieties should be crossed and planted alternately), and at least two varieties should be matched in one plot.

4. Young tree management

Spray water frequently after planting seedlings to keep the soil moist; After 2 months, fertilization should be carried out according to the growth of seedlings. The principle is to apply fertilizer frequently and thinly, and give priority to water and fertilizer.

5. Christmas Tree Management

Macadamia nuts enter the trial production period within 4-5 years, and the consumption of trees is large. Squeeze in combination with clearing the garden in winter every year, and apply 20-30 kg of decomposed farmyard manure, 0.5 kg of phosphate fertilizer and 0.5 kg of lime to each plant. In May, 0.5- 1.2 compound fertilizer was applied to each plant. With the increase of tree age, the amount of fertilizer increased.
